Katniss shot Gale a warning look as he started to step forward. He noticed and stepped back, letting the blond haired boy walk onto the stage. Katniss loved this blond haired boy, the boy with the bread. And the boy with the bread loved her. They had been dating for quite a while now and the only reason Katniss didn't want Gale to volunteer is because she couldn't think of any other way to die. Die with the one you love.
So, when the games came, Katniss found Peeta and ran. They stayed alive for quite some time until the vicious boy from district 2 came along. Katniss and Peeta willingly died at the hands of the brute murderer. They died looking into each others eyes and pretending they were alone somewhere.
One year later the Games continued. The quarter quell went on with Effie Trinket calling four names out. Two names of children. Two adults. There was no mockingjay. There was no hope. Only fear lived in the hearts of the citizens of Panem.
