This wasn't happening.
Rian wasn't...he couldn't be...

Those fangs. Those golden eyes shimmering in the moonlight.
I would forever remember the first time I saw them so many years ago. Only it had been from a distance then. And the wolf had been ripping into Chelsea.
Now the wolf was ripping into me and my heart.
I had so many questions, none of which I expected answers for. Rian would never see me again. At least, I would never see him again. He hurt people. That's what wolves did. I wouldn't stand to let him near my family after we'd barely escaped tragedy last time.
My phone erupted in texts and phone calls for a few hours, but I ignored it. Eventually, I just shut the device off. Rian might try to manipulate me into relenting, so I couldn't give him that chance. Not ever.
