Her Eyes

Ciel's POV

Tonight is the night of the Royalty Ball, and frankly Sebastian is on my case about it, but there is something far more important. Ever since I had that haunting dream. I haven't looked at Lady (Y/N) the same. I knew something that I couldn't get out of my head. Her eyes weren't (Y/E/C) anymore..they were dark..and they were shallow. There was something she was hiding.

"Young Master, you look very well-founded." I heard a voice from behind and slowly turned to see Sebastian standing there; dressed better than usual as well.

I scoffed, straightening out my red suit jacket and before I could make any more adjustments, Sebastian stopped me. He pushed up my bow tie as he tied it again to keep it still. Then slowly his fingers raked through my hair to straighten it out but I quickly raised my stubborn hand and swatted him away.

"Will the guests be here soon?" I asked, stepping away from the mirror.

"Why yes sir. The guests will fill in shortly after you sit down and have some tea." Sebastian said, setting the tray down upon my desk and beginning to pour the steaming liquid from the metal pot into the fragile cup.

Your POV

"Lady (Y/N)! Lady (Y/N)!" I could hear Mey-rin squeal as she ran down the hall, tripping over the golden, ruffled gown.

"Your dress- I..I..uh-It's here! Isn't it beautiful?" She spoke with such excitement I almost envied her enthusiasm.

Though my smile grew wide, "Mey-rin, It is absolutely astonishing..."

"Come on, come on! Let's get you dressed, shall we?" She exclaimed, taking my hand and leading me up to the room; I suppose I could claim as my 'bedroom.'

She followed me inside and we began to tackle the difficulties of a royalty's gown. While Mey-rin dressed me, I couldn't help but admire her dress. A rose pink, draping past her knees. All made of silk which presented her beautiful, red hair with such a shimmer. I hope she felt as pretty as she looked.

Once Mey-rin finished tying the corset of my dress, I stood up from my stool to face her, "You look much better than me Mey-rin.." I admitted and her large eyes filled with tears.

"What? Lady (Y/N)..Don't be silly, you look beautiful." She smiled before she turned out of the bedroom and I couldn't help but smile.

Time had passed quickly and royalty was spilling through the manor's large doors. Music filling my ears and the prim and proper chatter of such people I have never seen before. Couples were already dancing and it all was such a beautiful sight. I've never been to a ball. I've never seen such a wondrous  thing. Though the pleased smile on my face began to fade as I started to feel uneasy. I was unaware that this ball was a masquerade and that put me on a bit of edge.

Suddenly, I felt the pressure of a fingertip on my shoulder, "Miss..may I?" A thick, smooth accent spoke as I turned around to see a masked man, holding out a gold and red mask in the palm of his hand. The colors of the mask glistened and I stared in awe. Before I could even respond, the man stood behind me and placed the mask over my eyes and tied it behind my head. The large hand took mine, guiding me back and forth.I hadn't danced like this in what felt so long but as a child, Alois always danced with me- so I knew how.

"Even though I can't see much of your face Miss..you have very lovely eyes." The man whispered, continuing to guide me step by step.

"I've never seen such eyes before..you seem oh- so lovely yet something about them almost seems..evil.." And I could see a smile grow on his lips as if he were kidding- but I didn't think he was.

"Sir..? Who are you..?" I quickly questioned as I began to feel unsafe though when I looked up I saw Ciel.

His hand was in mine and his face unhidden by a mask as he stepped back and forth, " Lady (Y/N)..you're the one with a disguise on."

My large eyes blinked slowly, "No no...I was just with another man a minute ago.." I slowly let go of Ciel's hand to look around, the circling and dancing couples surrounding the two of us. I was stuck in my tracks as I glanced across the ballroom. The man in the green mask was nowhere. There was no way to tell in such a crowd.

"(Y/N) You're okay, let's dance." He said quietly, taking my hand as he started to guide me around the large floor and I tried my best to regain my strength.

I knew I wasn't imagining it. I knew I saw him.

"Young Master..I need to speak with Lady (Y/N) for a moment please." Sebastian spoke softly, interrupting the dance between us two. There was something in Sebastian's eyes, and I knew.

Ciel's hand in mine was the only reason I felt an ounce of security but I let go, as for orders and I followed Sebastian.

"(Y/N)..I'm afraid the time is up..you have to go tonight. Now, you must leave this moment. Nobody can quite tell who you are with this mask so you will be safe..but you must go. The clock strikes 10:00 and if you're not there by 12:00, you're aware of the consequence so you must hurry."

I didn't know what exactly was going to happen but I ran out of Ciel's sight. Darting out of the manor. I still had on the gown which slowed me down, but my mind was not in my head. I was filled with absolute fear and  time was running out.

I could tell the time was inching closer once the sight of the darkened Trancy manor came into view and I ran quickly to the door, knocking as loud as I could and that was when the man with the mask opened the door and I gasped, stepping back.

"You need to come inside Lady (Y/N), you have to pay."

"No..Claude..I don't have to pay you anything.." I stuttered yet the demon took my wrist, pulling me inside.

"There's a lot you've grown so clueless about...." Claude then removed the mask, dropping it to the floor where my eyes noticed a drop of blood and I shuffled away from it.

"I made a promise to you. I promised that I would protect Alois and keep him with breath; but for your life. You knew what those rules meant. You knew I was never here to take Alois's soul. I want yours."

My eyes darted upward, and i felt the warm liquid drip down my red cheeks. My complexion fading into the color crimson as the blood dripped down from my eyes; now a deep red. He was right. I do owe him something. I owed this man my soul. This was his wish; the wish I had granted him.

I knew I wasn't going to die, but I would lose it all. Claude was going to take the only aspect that mattered. After the pain, I will feel nothing. It didn't matter now, it was too late. My soul wouldn't last another minute in my body because the time was up. I counted every day for years, and I didn't imagine this day to happen like this.

Nodding my head slowly, I let the saltiness of tears mix with the raw stream of blood before I wiped my cheeks with my hands.

My eyes were glowing, burning with anticipation and the color red as my bones froze. The heat waved throughout my body. Distraught and distress. I felt the demon. His touch was everywhere, edging up to the moment he craved.

All at once I felt the sharp pain and the stinging in each and every vessel. Metal in my veins and blood burning as if it were turning to rust. My blood clotted like dust on a top shelf and my bones rattled enough to make my head ache. My palms were sweaty, but my skin was freezing cold. My dark eyes shook with terror. I was covered in the crimson of my own blood but what hurt the most was the hole in my chest; the emptiness that now defined me.
