Chapter 31

Nolan

The one time I was able to fall asleep, I ended up waking up in the middle of the night because of the dream I had. If it ever happened in real life....

I was sitting up in the bed, wiping the tears away that ended up forming during the dream. Jerome was sleeping soundly and I was contemplating whether I should wake him up or not.

In the end, I decided to let him sleep because he had a special presentation during the convention before noon, and I didn't want him to be tired for it. I didn't know what it was exactly, but I wanted him to get his sleep for it.

So I just sat there, wiping the tears away because they weren't stopping. I had to sniff a few times as well, hoping the tears would stop. It wasn't.

Jerome shifted around in the bed and I really hoped he wasn't waking up because of me.

Luckily, he didn't. The moving stopped and he didn't say anything.

I wiped some more tears away and reached for my phone on the nightstand to check the time. Three in the morning.

I then caught sight of my wallpaper. It was of Jerome, one that he decided to put there himself. Every time I was feeling down, I just had to look at the wallpaper and I normally felt better.

       This time, I didn't.

"Hey," Jerome suddenly said softly. "Are you okay?"

I quickly wiped the rest of my tears away. "Yeah."

       "Are you crying?"

"No, it's just allergies," I said.

"Allergies?" Jerome asked as he sat up. "Okay, for one, I doubt any allergies would show up at....however early it is. Unless it's dust and there's a lot of dust in the room. And two, the only thing you're allergic to wouldn't cause your eyes to water and your nose to be all runny."

       "I'm fine, I promise," I said.

"I didn't ask if you were," Jerome said. "And I know you're not. So, what's up?"

I sighed and locked my phone before putting it back on the nightstand. "I just....I don't know what to do at times," I said. "I feel so alone and hopeless."

"What?" Jerome asked. "You have your family. You have me. You'll always have me." Him saying that only made the tears come again. "Hey, come here." He wrapped his arms around me and rested his chin on the top of my head as I rested my head on his chest. "I have never felt this way about anyone and I will never leave you."

"I know," I said. "I just had a dream that you did leave me. That you didn't want to be around me, so you moved back to Lachine. And you said you never wanted to see me again."

"Nolan, I'll never do that," Jerome said. "I love you so much, and the biggest mistake I have ever made was dumping you just so I could mend things with my family. You're more important than them because you have been there for me when they weren't. You make me laugh, smile, and you make my heart flutter, like, all the time."

I smiled softly. "Thank you. I really needed to hear that."

Jerome lifted my head so I was looking up him. "I'm serious. If you ever need to talk about anything, I'll be here, because I love you more than anything."

"I love you too," I said.

Surprisingly enough, I was able to fall asleep and stay asleep until Jerome woke me up. I wasn't feeling as exhausted as I did the day before, thankfully. I didn't want to keep having to leave the convention just to come back here and nap.

Jerome let me sleep in as long as I was able to, but that only made as a few minutes late to the convention and the event he was in was already starting. Apparently, it was a talent showcase.

When we got to the building, Jerome pulled me quickly to the room where it was being held in. As soon as we got in the room, Jerome's name was being called for the second time. He pulled me all the way to the front before he got on the stage. The MC handed him the microphone and Jerome thanked him.

"Hey, everyone," Jerome said into the microphone. "Sorry I'm late. So, my name is Jerome Roy for those of you who don't know me, which would be hard to believe since I kind of won the couples contest yesterday with my very attractive boyfriend. Anyway, I sorry if I bore you to death with my performance because I am very untalented, even though I have won many dance competitions. But hey, whatever Dirk says goes, right?"

I didn't think Jerome was ever going to stop throwing shade.

Jerome placed the microphone on the microphone stand and moved it to the very corner of the stage before going back to the middle. Shortly after, some music started playing and he began to dance. I hadn't even seen him practice, but I didn't mind at all. Seeing him perform it for the first time was amazing.

       I loved watching him dance.

So did a lot of other people. So many people were cheering him on, and some were even screaming. I didn't blame them. He was so talented.

When he finished dancing, everyone applauded. Jerome bowed and got off the stage, walking over to me. "That was amazing," I said. "Like always. You're so talented."

       Jerome smiled. "Thank you."

       "I wish I had a talent."

"Is being extremely attractive a talent?" Jerome asked. "Because if it is, you're doing just fine. And I do mean fine."

I laughed softly. "You always know what to say to lift my mood. Thank you for that."

"Well, it's part of my duty as being your boyfriend," Jerome said. "I never got to ask you how you were doing when you woke up."

"A lot better," I said. "I got more sleep than the night before, so that's good. But seriously, thank you for everything you told me last night. Even though I already knew all of that, hearing it really helps. You're the best."

______________

Yas Jerome, keep throwing that shade.(•_•) / ( •_•)>⌐■-■ / (⌐■_■) <-- that's Jerome right there.

I made cupcakes and I don't have to share with my siblings because I bought the cupcake mix with my own money. :D And they're totally not getting any (except for my favorite sibling --yes, I have a favorite one and they all know it) because last week, our grandma brought over cupcakes leftover from an event she had and we both got none. Our younger sisters had at least four each. :/

Oh, and the song attached is the one Jerome danced to. It's from my favorite movie, High Strung. Seriously, it's amazing. I've watched it so many times and I'll never stop loving it. I swear, if Netflix takes it off, I'm going to cry.
