HOMECOMING was next week.

Everyone was chaotic, making final adjustments and improvements. The events of next week were getting everyone excited and that was the gossip of the week. It was mid-way the week, Wednesday to be precise. Sunny and no clouds in the sky made everyone even more hyped up.

Cassie was sitting with her friends on a bench near the huge area of green space, that's where the boys were playing football. They might not be jocks (well, Avery was) but they were hella good at the game. Seeing as Avery was playing in the game next week, the girls all decided to go and root for him before heading back home to get ready for Homecoming in the evening.

However the boys are yet to ask the girls and frankly the girls were getting impatient and were considering to let one of the many guys take them instead. What the girls didn't know is that the boys are planning something extravagant.

Cassie was sitting on the table, leaning back with sunglasses on, while Isla was sunbathing on the grass and Ava typing away on her phone. The boys stopped playing for a moment and huddled around, glancing at the girls, who seemed oblivious to the plan.

"Do you want to go first?" Scott asked Avery. He glanced at Ava and nodded.

"I'll go next and Scott you can go last." Lewis suggested and Scott agreed. With a grin, he looked at his friends. "May the odds be in our favour."

When Avery had enough courage to head over to Ava, he stalked over with a cocky smirk of his and snatched the phone out of her hand. Cassie and Isla stopped what they were doing and snickered at what was happening.

"Hey!" She yelled, jumping up form her as she glared at him, trying to get the phone back but he just held it above his head and she was way to short to reach it. Giving up, she huffed and crossed her arms over her chest.

"What do you want, doofus?" Ava hissed and he chuckled. "I mean, why do have to take my phone for? If you can't see, I was busy trying to catch up with the latest gossip so why did you-"

"-Homecoming." He cut into her rant.

"-take my phone. Wait, what?" She blinked in shock as his smirk grew. Cassie and Isla shared amused looks with each as they watched their  friend blink, confused.

"What did you say?" Ava asked, frowning at Avery. Scott and Lewis snickered as they walked over to see how Avery was doing.

"Homecoming." He stated. Ava was still confused or shocked so Avery leaned down, close to her dark red coloured lips. "With me?"

A minute went by.

Suddenly, Ava squealed and jumped into his arms, wrapping her arms around his neck as he held her by the waist.

"Why did you take so long?" She squealed, jumping on her feet with happiness. Avery smirked and shook his head, winking at her.

Cassie snorted and stood up when she heard the bell go for next lesson. "Well, while that was adorable, we have lessons to go to."

She winked at Ava, who blushes deeply and hide her head into Avery's chest. Isla walked away first, Lewis, Avery and Ava following closely behind her, leaving Scott and Cassandra by themselves. Scott slung his arm over her shoulder and smirked, watching a scowl come onto her face.
