Mara snapped out her trance, there was no use for it now. She had to protect her family. "Kay, first off, it's not polite to throw a spear in the general directing of several people you haven't met before. Second, I'm just really tired and in desperate need of a nap. Can you come back in a few hours? When I can actually see? That would be great thanks!" Mara snapped at the lead native.

The leader glanced at her curiously. "Uh, no habla ingles?" Mara guessed. "Pas d'anglais? Geen engels? Kein englisch? Non anglicus? Gan english? No inglese?" She went through several languages that she had only briefly studied, and didn't know well. "Wait a second, you spoke english when you threw the spear at Mr. Aster! Geez, first you throw something sharp at someone, which is considered very rude where I come from by the way, but then you make me think that you don't speak english! Shame on you, native." Mara shook her head in disappointment.

The man watched her curiously. "You are a strange girl."

"Rude. But yes, very very strange." Mara watched him curiously. She looked at the spear. "Eww... why would you decide to use pink for the spear tips. Is this a gay tripe or something, which is totally fine by the way, I mean, I like girls and guys so it's cool if you are and all but-" Mara was cut off by Peter behind her.

"They're called the Mollusks. The old man is the leader. He hates Englishmen." Peter whispered to Mr. Aster.

"So, boy, you were not lying about the magic."

"No," Peter replied.

"And there it is, in that box. Magic that make people fly, turns fish into women, and women into fish." The native states.

"Yes," Peter nodded.

"We will take it." The Native signaled with his hand.

"Hey! What is with you and being so rude. One, I didn't hear a please. Two, if you want something, ask, don't just grab, we call those people pirates. Three. I don't even know your name." Mara rolled her eyes.

"I am Fighting Prawn." The native told her. "Tell them to drop their weapons."

"No, We can't let you have that trunk." Leonard told the Mollusk leader sternly.

"You are in no position to decide what we can have." Fighting Prawn snarled. "Your people might hurt some of mine, but there are too many of us. We will win, and you will die. I have watched you from the jungle-"

"Stalker!" Mara called out.

"I can see that you love these two girls. Do you want them to die?" Fighting Prawn continued, glancing at Mara.

"Dude, you need manner lessons. Real bad." Mara wrinkled her nose.

"Mara! Calm yourself!" Mr. Aster grabbed Mara's arm, and pulled her behind him, next to Peter. "No," He told Fighting Prawn.

"Then tell your people to put down their weapons." Fighting Prawn continued.

"No!" Mara yelled. "Mr. Aster! You can't! It's too important!"

"She's right. He'll kill us anyways. They kill all strangers on this island. That's what he told us." Peter yelled.

"That's true. I told you that. But I won't kill you. I need you to show me how the magic works. I can see it has great power. I can see that even you fear its power. So to use it, I need you. That is your guarantee of safety." Fighting Prawn said.

"Alright." Mr. Aster said after a moment of silence.

"Father, don't!" Molly yelled.

"Molly, look around us. He's right. Even if we do all we can, some of us will die. We'll do as he says, for now, and perhaps we can... ah... work something out." Leonard said, touching his locket. "Drop your weapons." They reluctantly did.

"Now tell them to get out of the boat, but they're to leave the magic box where it is." Fighting Prawn said.

Mr. Aster repeated the native's order. Fighting Prawn made a series of clicking and grunting sounds. The Mollusks surrounded the starcatchers and began to prod them down the beach.

"Where are they taking us?" Leonard asked. "Just a short distance there, I want to take a look at this magic box. You, boy, and the girl too." Peter and Molly stepped forward.

"Not you! The other girl!" Fighting Prawn hissed. Mara stepped forward, pushing Molly behind her.

"If you two try anything, your friends will pay for it, do you understand?" The Mollusk asked.

Mara opened her mouth to make another comment, when Peter covered her mouth and spoke for her. "Yes."

"How does it work?" The native asked.

"I don't know." Peter shrugged.

"Don't lie boy! I've seen you fly." Fighting Prawn hissed.

"Yes, but I don't understand it. It's very powerful, and it can do many things, wonderful things, strange things. But also bad things, if the wrong people have it. And there are... Listen I can't explain all of what's going on, it's very complicated, but you must believe me. You will be much better off, much better, if you let that man take the trunk, and leave this island." Peter shook his head.

"If he leaves, more will come, and more. No, boy, I will keep him, and I will keep this trunk, and with his help I will learn to use it's power, and when I do, I will make sure no outside dares set foot onto this island ever again." Fighting prawn hissed, leaning forward.

Running footsteps slapped against the sand. Black Stache was running towards them, sword raised high over his head.

Black Stache approached, sword leveled at Peter and Mara, he only said three words. "Bye bye, brats." Before thrusting his sword forward.

Mara dived into the bottom of the boat, while Peter leaped into the air. She heard the sound of flesh being hit.
