I walk downstairs only to be greeted by my parents,sisters and friends "Hey guys" I greet "Hey? That's all we get? It's your birthday,and the best you can do is say 'hey'?" Olivia asks I roll my eyes "Well,maybe" I say "What time is it?" I ask mom "8:45" She says "We gotta go!" Mia exclaims as my friends and I start to rush out the door only to be stopped by dad and mom I groan "For once can we just go to school?" I ask "Nope" Dad says "Your birthday is today,you think we're just gonna let you ignore it like its not a big deal?" "I was hoping" I mumble "Dad it's not a big deal. I'm 15, so what? Another year till I get to drive? Doesn't seem that exciting or worth while to me" I tell him "Honey,we just wanna celebrate with you" Mom hugs me "Fine you can. We gotta get to school" I grab my bag and we head out the door
Time skip.....................
"Happy birthday Kira Lynn Carter!" Claire laughs "Don't say my full name please,it makes you sound too much like my mom" I say as we get to our lockers "Hey, at least I don't get in on your personal life and talk to you about boys like your a 22 year old" She fires back "She does have a point. The woman does have a tendency to do that" Kenzie points in "Seriously Kenz. You don't wanna get on our moms bad side by talking about her back" Mia says I nod "Well,let's get to class, I think we're gonna write a report about John Adams and I'm really excited!" I say "She loves her history" Mia mumbles to our friends I roll my eyes and hit her in the arm "Ow"

"Ok so today instead of writing a report on John Adams......" Mr Watson starts "We will be talking about the more current events that happened in political times of the early 1800's" he says I smile "As Ms Carter presented to us last week "Susan B Antony declared that there will be a change to the governmental branches and that women should be allowed to vote" he says "Why do you think this was?" "She wanted to make a difference, let people see things from her perspective. She believed that women should get an opportunity to vote. I also believe that. With all the different political views everywhere. It's hard to decide what's right and wrong,what to believe and what not. We all think we have the world figured out,there's still more of the world to explore" I say "The government, can't keep us from exploring our world. The battles,the freedom of gaining independence, which therefore, so countries don't have. The war zone we fight,just to state an opinion about what we think matters most, there are millions of people out there getting killed just for saying what they believe in. Susan B Antony fought for our people,she fought for women. The choices, and rights that women have today-" I take a deep breath "It's all thanks to her" "That was all very well said Ms Carter" Mr W tells me "Today's her birthday!" I hear Zach shout I roll my eyes and Mr W laughs "Happy birthday Kira" I smile "Thanks Mr Watson" the bell rings and we all get up and leave the classroom

"You're really standing by on this one huh?" Bree asks me as we start walking home "Well I guess,I just wanna make in difference in this whole school environment y'know? Speak for the voiceless" I tell her "I don't why but for some reason I picture you,working in the London National museum" Leo says I laugh "I don't think that's what it's called" Mia puts in "London: the city of Shakespeare and Dickens" I remember Zach points his finger at me "I'm pretty sure that what you just said is sexist" He tells me I roll my eyes "You're really that much of a feminist?" Leo asks "Why does everyone think I'm suddenly a feminist?" I ask as we open the door to the diner which we quickly decided to go to for some chocolate chip pancakes "Because,you gave that speech about women's rights in history class,not to mention twice! And you organized the whole uniform protest with Kenzie. But before that you basically stated the uniforms were sexist cause the boys got to wear pants and the girls didn't" Leo says "Ok, a lot of reasonable explanations. I'm not a feminist,though....I think it's crucial for women to be taken as incapable of doing somethings because of their gender. But that doesn't mean I'm a feminist" I tell him "Actually Kir,it does" Mia tells me "Whatever" I say "These are some good pancakes" Zach says with his mouth full of pancakes I roll my eyes "Shallow than talk please" I tell him "Sorry mom" he says after he shallows his food I roll my eyes and we exit the diner
