I walk back into Jamie's room with Jackson. I notice she's crying.

"What's wrong Jamie?" Jackson asks.

"I have something this weekend in New York, and I really have to go. It's a pretty big deal, so I can't miss it. Will I be okay by then?" Jamie asks.

"Oh the science fair?" Jackson asks.

"Yeah, how did you know?" she asks.

"Your brother told us about it," I say.

"We'll take things one step at a time and see if you're well enough to travel when the time comes," Jackson adds.

Jamie nods.

"How are you feeling?" I ask.

"Everything hurts," she replies.

"We're doing everything that we can to ease your pain and make your skin looks the way it did before, but there will probably be some scarring," Jackson says.

"It's fine, I understand," Jamie says.

My pager goes off. "I have to go, but Doctor Avery will stay here and take care of your burns. I'll be back to check on you later," I say and leave the room.

As I walk, I look at my pager again. Cristina is paging me, which is weird. I'm not looking where I'm going, and I bump into someone else. I look up from my pager.

"Sorry, I wasn't paying attention to where I was going," I say.

The person I bumped into is a man, probably about 25 years old. He smells of alcohol and looks lost.

"Do you need help finding something?" I ask. Then, I notice a large cut on his arm.

"I'm fine," he says, noticing me glance at his arm.

"You should get that cut stitched up. I can help you," I say.

"Just leave me alone. I can find my way around this place," he says and hurries away from me.

I consider going after him when I remember Cristina paged me. As I walk down the hallway to the room I was paged to, I notice a small streak of blood on the floor. It looks like it continues beyond the door to a stairwell, so I push open the door. On the bottom of the stairs there is a puddle of blood. The railing is also stained with blood, and there are a few binders on the steps.

I open one up and see that they are Derek's post-ops, and I see that there is a bloody pencil on the floor. I remember that Lexie was on Derek's service and I begin to panic. Is Lexie hurt? Is Derek hurt?

I hurry out of the stairwell and start walking down a hallway when I see Meredith coming from the other direction.

"Were you paged too?" she asks.

"I was paged to this room by Cristina," I say.

"Me too," Meredith says.

I consider telling her about the blood I saw in the stairwell, but decide that I would tell her after we treat the patient in this room. I open the door to the room and Meredith walks in first. She gasps. I hurry in after her.

Lexie is in the patient bed, covered in cuts and bruises. She's unconscious. Cristina stands next to her bed with Owen, and I notice a tear roll down her cheek. Cristina is crying.

"What happened?" I ask.
