((This one wasn't requested! I'm just trying to get rid of a huge writers block I've acquired through the stress of school over the course of the past few months. After the remainder of my end-of-the-year tests, i'll be free to write all the oneshots I want! Somehow, through all my delays, you've all continued to relentlessly support me! Thank you guys, i hope you enjoy and don't forget to request new oneshots! If you already have requested and the chapter hasn't come out yet, don't hesitate to request again! See you guys soon (and more!) Much love! -author-chan))

Almost numbly you watched yourself in the large mirror in front of you. You sat in a velvety chair that tickled your legs due to your costume, but found little comfort in it like you had upon first sitting on it. A ball of stress riled in your stomach, and you felt rather ill at the thought of the hundreds waiting for your performance not far away. Your hands rubbed against the chair anxiously in thought.

Your gaze flicked to your phone, and after a moment of assessing new texts (mostly wishing you luck), you found that your performance was fast approaching. Ten minutes. You shifted, letting out a warm breath in the freezing room. You dabbled fresh stage makeup over the faded coat from earlier, and ran your hands through the folds of your costume in preparation. There wasn't much else you could do.

The previous night you'd broken down. The stress of the show was a lot on you. You'd been rehearsing, and hard, for months now. You knew the whole show like the back of your hand. You'd spent endless amounts of time on the stage that now awaited you, just.. with no audience. That was a large difference. But, you'd worked hard. You just wanted this to be over. You wanted the satisfaction of a job well done.

But, of course, the fear of disappointment crept in once more. Your hands tightened on the chair, and you hung your head to glare at your lap. You were scared. You didn't want to embarrass yourself, of course, but feared the pressure of the crowd may invoke something to cause it.

This just needed to be over.

Your hands shook.

What if something goes wrong?

You pushed your hands into your lap in an effort to calm them. Your breathing rose, and your heartbeat raced to catch up. Your head began pounding as numerous loud thoughts began to harass your mind.

Trapped. Run. Move. Go.

Worried with this sudden response, you stood, gripping the counter.

Small box. Closing in. No air.

You attempted to soothe your breathing, rubbing your temples.

A knock.

Three.

Three knocks.

Your breathing kicked up once more, and you had no choice but the remain silent and manage your newfound panic.

Silence ensued.

You had no idea as to what was quite happening. Where you late? Was someone sent to fetch you? How long had you been here, panicking? You shuttered at this onslaught of questions, wondering if you really cared about any of them in this state.

It wasn't until a cold hand hand rested on your shoulder that you realized someone else had entered the room.

"____, the show is in five minutes." A gentle voice told you, confirming the owner of the hand to be none other than your fellow lead in the production.

You looked up into the mirror, finding his concerned concerned eyes staring back to your own in the reflective surface.

"Genji," You said in recognition, blinking. "I-I'm sorry. I just got nervo-"

"It's okay," His eyes showed friendliness as always, but tonight held a tiredness to them too. He was tired. You doubted he slept. "I'm nervous too." His hand lifted to flick some of your hair from your forehead.

He was so calm, and yet your heart was racing from your anxious thoughts still.

"Genji? Nervous? That's new." You teased gently alongside a new, small smile.

He smiled too. "Psh. You didn't hear it from me," He urged, brushing his thumb over your resting hand on the counter. "We should get to stage left."

Your heart fluttered.

"Alright." You agreed, squeezing his hand. You turned to him, mustering the most coy wink you could.

"A kiss for good luck?" You ventured.

"Do you really need to ask?" He replied impishly.

That night, you performed better than you ever had in your life.
