Dear Future Husband - Poem 20

Dear future husband,

When I think of a man that I would marry,

I think of you, of course.

I won't ever judge you on the way you look.

I hope you do the same for me.

I will never expect anything but yourself.

I hope you are honest,

But quite.

I hope you are determined,

But shy.

I hope you are powerful,

But modest.

I hope you value your family,

And friends alike.

I hope you hold everyone

With a steady hand.

Not just me, please don't single me out.

I want you to be unafraid of

My darker side.

We all have them,

But some don't accept yours, just like mine.

I will accept yours if you give me the chance.

Hold me when I need a shoulder to cry on.

Keep eye contact with me even when I try to look away.

Show me that I am worth someone else's' time,

Talents,

And effort.

I care if you tell me you love me,

It will be sweet when you do.

I will not promise that I will say it back,

But deep down I will love you, without saying it.

But most of all,

Take my hand firmly in yours

And walk through the hard thing that God will lay on your shoulders.

We can do it together.
