Lonely Man- Poem 105

78 1 1

When compliments swim around me,

And my head gets confused,

Turning the lights down can help me cope.

When I am addressed

"Where have you been all my life?"

But respond with

"I'm sorry but my heart is deaf."

My heart is being pulled in all these directions

That I never want it to go.

Take control of yourself,

not my fragile shell.

You belong to someone.

You told me this,

So please,

Why torment me with this?

I never wanted your attention,

And your intentions will never be known.

So run back to the heart that holds you,

You lonely man.
