"You're overthinking again. Where are you right now?"
"We got a dog, but it ran away."
"How did we get from here to getting a dog, who then, in turn, ran away?" she laughs. "Are we on the same page here?"
"You're asking me to marry you."
"There we go." She grins at you, her eyes sparkling. "You always overthink things. You're okay, babe."
"Okay. Yeah. You're right." You let out a breath. "Wait—why am I even contemplating this? Of course I'll marry you."
"Good plan," Demi laughs.
"We're getting married," you say, still a bit in shock.
"Yes, we are," she tells you.
"This is incredible," you say before pulling her closer and pressing your lips to hers. She smiles against you and moves her hands to your hips. You pull her closer, tangling your hands in her hair.
"Oh, wait. I forgot something," she says before pulling away from you and reaching in her pocket. "Rings," she explains.
"This may be the most laid-back proposal I've ever seen," you joke, and she rolls her eyes playfully before taking your hand and slipping a beautiful ring onto your finger.
"This is better though, isn't it? Laid back?"
"Absolutely," you agree, smiling at her. "You're amazing."
"Why thank you, my lovely future-wife."
You laugh before throwing your arms around her. "I love you so much."
"I love you, too." She kisses your shoulder. "We should go dress shopping later today."
"Already?"
"Why not? It'll be fun."
"That's true," you say, pulling away enough to see her face. Her brown eyes sparkle, and you realize just how much you love this adorable and occasionally annoying woman.
"What?" she laughs, searching your face.
"I just love you a lot," you tell her, and she smiles.
"Well, I love you, too. I mean, I have to love you a lot to decide to put up with you for the rest of my life."
"Oh shut up," you laugh, kissing her to shut her up. She giggles against your lips, and you smile. The thought of spending the rest of your life with her makes you unbelievably happy. You're actually marrying the love of your life.
