"What do you two have to say for yourselves?" Dad says.

"Sorry." Maddie and I mumble.

"Riley's sprained her ankle because of you two!" Mom says.

"Sorry." We repeat.

"'Sorry' just doesn't cut it." Mom says. "You have to disable any more traps you set up for the twins. You guys are going to wait on Riley and Lacey hand and foot. You must do everything they tell you to."

"What?!" We yelp.

"John you can wait on Riley." Mom says.

"And Maddie you can wait on Lacey."

At least I got Riley. Out of the two twins of terror, Riley's the least annoying.

"Oh and you're grounded." Dad says.

Maddie groans but this doesn't upset me, there's nothing to do round here anyway.

"Hey babe." I say to Mackenzie via Facetime.

"Heyyyyy." She says.

"I have some exciting news!" She squeals.

"What is it?" I ask curious.

"Sorry can't tell ya." Mackenzie says.

"Seriously another secret?" I complain.

"I guess so." Mackenzie says.

There's a silence then.

"I miss you." Mackenzie says quietly.

"Me too." I say.

"Johnny!!!!!!!" I hear Lacey scream.

"Anyways," I say breezily to Mackenzie, completely ignoring Lacey.

"Johnny!!!!!" Lacey yells again.

"I think Lacey wants you." Mackenzie says.

"Oh screw her." I say. "Maddie's the one that's waiting on her not me."

I hear a voice talking to Mackenzie.

"Who's that?" I ask.

"Oh, that's just, um..." Mackenzie says.

"Hiya Johnny!" I see Eddie popping up on the screen.

"Eddie?" I say puzzled. "What's he doing there?"

"Oh, he's just, um..." Mackenzie says.

"I'm spending time with my favourite girl." He says, squeezing Mackenzie.

My hands clench into a fist.

That boy...

"Bye." I say and end the call.

I Facetime Nadia, maybe she'll know what's going on.

"Hi." She says.

"Why is Eddie at Mackenzie's house?"

"Oh their partners for our history project." Nadia says casually.

"Why didn't Mackenzie tell me that? Eddie was suggesting that they were actually hanging out." I say.

"She didn't tell you, cause she knew you wouldn't be happy about it." Nadia says. "Its not a big deal."

"JOHNNY!!!!!!" Lacey screams again, at the top of her lungs.

"Go to go." I sigh.

***

"What?" I say irritably.

"Oh nothing." Lacey says.

"What?" I say really annoyed. "You've been screaming my name for the past five minutes for nothing?!"

"Ya!" Lacey says.

"Johnny?" I hear Riley call.

"Yes?" I say, turning to her.

"I want some water. And some hot chocolate. And some orange juice. And some pancakes. And some pasta." Riley says.

Riley might be the least annoying but she is extremely demanding.

"Why don't I get you one of those things now and get you the rest later?" I ask.

Riley thinks this through.

"Ok." She says. "I'll take the water."

As I am getting Riley's water,
Mom reminds me that I'm starting school tomorrow.

Uhhh.
