     "Honey?"
I blinked and looked over at my mother.
     "What?"
"You were zoned out. Were you thinking about Josh again?"
I looked down at my feet. Yes, I had been thinking about my brother again. It was impossible to keep my mind from wandering from whatever I was trying to focus on to my brother. I missed him.
My mother placed her hand on my shoulder.
Just then, my father walked through the front door into the kitchen.
There was a familiar scent in the air, but there was something weird about it.
I sniffed in deeply, and recognized the scent.
     "Joshuah!!!"
I bolted out of the kitchen towards my father, expecting to see that he'd returned with Josh.
When I stopped in front of my dad, Josh was nowhere in sight. His scent was coming from my father.
I looked down at my father's hands. In them was the shirt that Joshuah was wearing when he ran off.
It was covered in what was giving off Joshuah's scent: his blood.
