“Niall?” Liam called out as he stepped inside the Irish lad's flat.

No response.

“Niall?” he tried again.

“In my bedroom.” Niall replied and his voice sounded a bit forced.

“Ni?” Liam entered the bedroom and saw Niall sitting at the end of the bed.

“Hey, what are you doing?” Liam said as he walked closer.

Niall sniffed and looked up at Liam with red rimmed eyes, a sure sign that he had been crying.

“C'mon tell me. What happened?” Liam tried again.

Niall sighed and showed Liam what he was holding.

It was a pair of white baby booties.

“I uh-....... I was going through my cupboard and stumbled across these.”

Liam looked down in sadness and a bit of guilt.

“I saw these online and just couldn't resist them. So I bought them for when the baby got here.” Niall's voice cracked at the end.

Liam sighed and took Niall's hand in his own.

“I'm sorry.” The Wolverhampton lad sighed.

“Nobody could have done anything to prevent it.” Niall whispered as he inched closer to Liam, seeking comfort, without even noticing it.

Liam didn't reply and just leaned forward.

He took Niall's chin between his index finger and his thumb and very gently pulled his face closer to his own.

He lightly tapped Niall's chin with his thumb, letting him know what he wanted;

Niall leaned a bit more in and lightly brushed his lips against Liam's.

Liam tilted his head to the right and properly pressed his lips to Niall's.
