I can't believe Mom. Seriously, there's something wrong with her.
So she calls me today, right? At work, of course, because why the hell would she call at an appropriate time? Anyway, I was stupid enough to think that she was calling because she somehow found out about Grace and wanted to voice her concern. Not a chance.
No, she just wanted to know about her bail.
I was so pissed I almost hung up the phone. Instead, I told her the truth: "Sorry, Mom, but I've been just a little preoccupied with the fact that Grace was forced to admit herself into St. Montgomery's."
Her reply? "Oh."
Oh.
Are you freaking kidding me?
Your daughter has been thrown into a mental hospital, and all you have to say is "Oh"? What the hell is wrong with you?
And, to make matters worse, once she was done mulling over this news, she decided the next best question would be, "So when do you think you'll be able to get working on my bail?"
I hung up the phone.
