Dear Reader,

I'm sorry to say that the story you are reading is extremely unpleasant. It tells an unhappy tale about one very unlucky town with one exceptionally unlucky boy. One might say that he is a magnet for misfortune.

In this short story alone, the young boy and his family encounter a greedy and murderous villain, and other nightmares that you couldn't possibly imagine it.

It is my sad duty to write down this unpleasant tale, but there is nothing stopping you from exiting this story at once and reading something happy, if you prefer that sort of thing.

With all due respect,

Dipper's POV

I was walking around in the woods... thinking when it happened. Mabel and I had just found out that our parents, who were down in California while Mabel and I were here in Gravity Falls, had died in a car crash last night while driving home from a work party. Mabel was most like rocking on her bed visiting 'Sweater Town.' I was considering going to Wendy's for some comfort. I wasn't paying attention to where I was walking, resulting me tripping over a tree root causing me to fall onto my backpack. I heard a crunch from inside the backpack and that made me realize.... the rift is in my backpack. Frantically, I opened up my pack praying that I just hadn't broken the rift. I decide to just dump it out on the ground.... the rift fell out shattered a bright light emitted from the rift soaring up into the sky. I glanced up and saw a big rip opening up in the sky

I started having a panic attack. What if Bill finds me... what if he finds Mabel.. I can't lose her too. Thoughts were rushing through my head until I heard that all-too familiar cackling to the Northeast of me and I, stupidly may I add, started running in Bill's direction.

As I arrived, Bill and other monsters were laughing as they were turning people that were running around, into stone.

"Hey Bill!" I yelled hoping that the remaining people would take cover.

"Now isn't this interesting?" Bill mused as noticed me right before appearing in front of me sending shivers down my spine, "My old puppet is back for an encore! You think you can stop me? Go ahead Pine Tree show me what you got!"

I attempted flipping through the journal to see if it could help.

It didn't help.

'Seriously the ONE TIME I need the journal's help... it doesn't help'

Since the journal was no help, stupidly, I tried to punch him.

Bad idea.

When I tried, Bill threw me back with a blast of wind, forcing me hit my head up against a rock and then a tree. The last thing I remember is Bill's cackling before everything turned black.

Bill's POV

I watched Pine Tree lose consciousness, cackling like the maniac I am. I considered letting 8-Ball and Teeth eat him. But what's the fun in that? No, I've got big plans for this kid.
