I heaved a sigh mentally as we left the blue carpet, the lady back there was eye raping Ethan physically and when he complimented her, she almost convulsed, I was feeling a hint of jealousy. I make up my mind to push it away.

The hall looked spotlessly clean and beautiful. You could smell money as everyone did a meet and greet. I was beginning to see Ethan's side of life.  I was still looking around when he said,

"Ruby, I need you to meet with some people before we sit down."

"Okay." I said nodding and he guided me towards three adults on the left side of the hall. As we approached them, the third person left leaving a woman and a man. I stared at the couple and I could see a canny resemblance between the man and Ethan then Ethan said confirming my thoughts,

"Hello Dad, Mum."

"Oh dear. I was just telling your father you might not show up." The woman, I mean Ethan's Mum said and Ethan let go off my hand to kiss each of her cheeks and hug his Father who patted his back. Then his Dad said,

"Who is this beauty you have brought?"

"This is my friend Dad, her name is Ruby Collins. She is from Washington and she works as a Training and Development Manager at Liam Technologies." Ethan explained,

"It's nice to meet you dear." His Dad said,

"What does your parents do?" His Mum asked suddenly,

"They are Pastors but my Mum owns a small confectionary store in our neighborhood and My Dad is a business man." I replied unfazed,

"I see." She said scrunching up her nose.

"Please do enjoy yourself dear." His Dad said,

"Thank you sir." I replied, there and then I decided I like Ethan's Dad better than his Mum.

"We will go find a seat, please excuse us." Ethan said and he pulled me away from there towards a table on the right.

"I am sorry about that."

"Come on, it's not a big deal." I said as we sat down and the Launching started then the emcee after addressing the guests and cracking some jokes said,

"We will call on the brain behind this Hotel, the CEO of Royal Hotels and Suites, Mr Jesse King to give us a short history before we go to open this Hotel officially."

"Your Dad is Royal Hotels?"

"Yes."

"And you did not mention this before because?"

"I already told you, I don't like calling attention to myself and it never came up in any of our discussion plus it is not a big deal."

"CEO of Royal Hotels ain't a big deal. Trust only you to say that."

"Sheesh, he is about to start speaking." He said and I kicked him underneath the table, earning a surprise gasp from him before I turned my attention to the man on the stage.

He told us the history of Royal Hotels but not before appraising his Wife, Caroline King and his only son, Ethan King. He talked about the vision and mission of the Hotel, he ended all his speech by saying,

"Failure is part of success and if your business is going all smooth and thriving without a hitch once in a blue moon, that business needs to be examined so Royal Hotel might do a little mistakes here and there but as you know it, we remain Topnotch and bring Kingly services to you."

Soon, the event was over, Ethan said goodbye to his parents and on our way home, he stopped by a restaurant and told me to stay in the car. Minutes later, he brought three white packed polythene bags into the car. The car immediately embraced the smell of food. In no time, we got to my apartment and he walked me in before promising to call me later that night.
