Dawn had started to creep over the horizon, the flowers beginning to open; letting the warm heat of the sunlight wash over them. Their petals as delicate and soft as Luna's touch against Draco's skin. Their soft and graceful semblance couldn't be more precise to Luna's appearance. Sweeter than their scent and more elegantly desplayed than a full bloomed flower.

Luna nuzzled against Draco, as she drifted into sleep. The sun was slowly waking and settling on her cheek and a small and pleasant smile couldn't help but to glide on to her lips.

This was such a peacful sight, that Draco had immidiately treasured it as one of his most favourite. Luna wasn't particularly dreaming about anything special, apart from having to relieve the way it felt to be under Draco's touch.

The way, his hands lingered around her body, occasionally and delicately exploring more. The way his strong and securing hands entwined in her hair as he filled her with soft kisses.

Those kisses that lit her body on fire.

As the warm breeze began to prod across the surface of the lake; disrupting the ocassional wave and unsettling the static motion of the water, Luna clinged tighter on to Draco's shirt feeling the breeze against parts of her exposed skin.

Draco took note of this, having been wide awake and merely watching Luna's dreamy state, and wrapped his hands tighter around her fragile body. Bringing her closer against him. Breathing her jasmine scent.

It was odd that Draco had completely taken his guard down when he was around Luna. It was as though he transformed into a completely different person. An in some extent, he did. Draco felt things that were completely foreign to him, when he was around her. Things, that he knew would make him look weak if shown in front of anybody else. But somehow, while he was near Luna Lovegood, Draco couldn't care less about what others thought.

But just as he was tucking a loose strand of her golden hair behind her ear, he realised that today was the big day. As soon as the thought entered his mind, he went numb and immobile. Draco froze, and stared blankly ahead.

He could feel the temperature in his body rise - higher than what it had been from holding Luna - and started to pant as though he had just ran a mile.

Draco's incoherent rhythm of breath, began to disarray Luna's sleep. But before she could even wake up, Draco pulled himself away from her, panicked and then stood up. A cold chill ran through his body, from disconnecting himself from the body warmth that his precious witch gave off. It pained him to leave her like this, but he knew he had to.

Draco shrugged his jacket off his shoulders and curled it around Luna's slender frame. He gave her one apologetic look before pressing his lips on her temple and murmuring "Goodbye."

Draco didn't bother to turn around. He was sure if he looked at the angelic figure laying on the grass and wrapped around his jacket, he would disrupt the scenery with his burden. Instead he continued to face forwards and made his way to the castle, his hands gripping the hem of his shirt with a knuckle burning force.

He couldn't do it, he couldn't think of her during his mission. He swallowed the lump in his throat and shut his eyes. But it was a mistake. Luna was everywhere in the darkness of his mind. Draco could see her gold flamed eyes crinkling with laughter. He could see her sun streaked skin practically glowing against his. He could feel the softness of her lips against his.

Draco's heart beat heavy against his ribs as he couldn't take Luna off his mind. She couldn't distract him. He had to prove to the Dark Lord that he was capable of undertaking this task.

His eyes flashed open and he hurried to the Entrance Hall. Draco knew the worst was to come, he could feel his hands trembling with the urge to hit something.

Coincidentally, Potter was just coming down the staircase. Draco jerked his head towards him and rolled his eyes when he saw who it was.

Potter only stared back, his eyes distant and pitying. Then, before he could even think about the situation and what was happening, he spoke.

"I don't care about you, Malfoy. You can do whatever you want. But I can see that Luna cares about you and I care about her. So don't ruin that relationship with your egotism."

Draco froze, and furrowed his eyebrows as Harry Potter continued to speak. Was Draco slightly confused? Yes, he was. But he still remained standing there, watching him.

"Luna is..." Harry began to drift off as he spoke about Luna. A small smile glinting on his face as the image of her became vivid in his mind. "She's amazing, alright?"

He looked determined, as he made his way towards Draco Malfoy. There was a hint of pain in Harry's eyes that Draco could not dismiss. It was obvious that Potter had feelings for Lovegood, but he never got a solid chance to express them to her. And now, that it was obvious that Luna had chosen Draco, Harry only felt sorry that it wasn't him who was expressing his affection for her the way she deserved to receive it.

"You should know how lucky you are to have her."

And that was it. That was the spark that Draco needed to explode. He hated to be lectured upon. Especially by this scrawny Gryffindor with glasses.

So, Draco growled in anger and fiercely threw a fist in his direction, connecting it with Potter's nose.

"Don't you fucking tell me what to do." Draco spat as Harry's glasses came flying off his face.

The build up of anxiety that he'd been trying to avoid, had finally shone through the use of his language. His urge of relieving this pain was through hitting the one person he loathed the most.

But Draco didn't stop there. The one blow wasn't near enough; besides, it had felt to good to just stop. He raised his fist and striked it against Potter's face again. The impact had knocked Harry out of balance and Draco took this chance to fully bring him to his knees. Kicking and spitting on him as he fell.

Draco took a breath and stared at Potter in disgust.

"Stay away from her." He gnarled and gripped his hair so he could whisper it in his ear. He tightened his grip trying to make Harry wince or show some sort of fear, but he got none.

Potter, didn't show any sign of defence, which only made the Slytherin even more angry. He threw his head back on the ground and turned around in frustration, not wanting to strain any more of his energy on him.

Harry Potter managed to get to his feet, panting slightly. But he didn't want to fight Malfoy. He knew that, that was not what he wanted to get at the end of his little speech. He was satisfied with what he had said to him, although he still needed to get one more phrase out of his system.

"I'll stay away from her, but I can't prevent her from staying away from me."

And with that, Potter turned on his heels and walked on the opposite direction.

Draco watched as he left. The simple thought of it, made him cringe in disgust. He couldn't lose her. He couldn't lose Luna to that insolent Potter. He marched to the Slyhtherin Common Room stiffly.

Draco disliked the idea of letting go of her. He wasn't going to do such a thing, but for now, he had to.He couldn't bring Luna's memory into the dangers he was falling into. He couldn't risk her distracting him. Making him weak.

There was no way, she would fall into the hands of Potter. Draco wouldn't let that happen. Luna was his. And only his.

But as he turned the corner to the dungeons, all that was left behind in his mind was an echo. A distant memory of her laugh banging against his skull.
