I bent my head and kissed his throat in reply.

He gave a nervous chuckle. "Maddy, I never thought I'd tell you that. I saw you in school, but I never dreamed that we'd be here... doing this..." He let his voice trail off as he managed to undo my bra, despite his trembling fingers. It fell, and Alex's breath caught in his throat. I sensed it as his breathing quickened and his heart-rate doubled. His eyes took me in, raking over me. I knew he was taking in every detail, but not seeing a single flaw, but my only response was to trace the hard lines of his abdomen with a fingertip.

"Honestly, Maddy, with an attitude and a body like this, how are you still a virgin?"

"How can you tell?" I murmured.

"It's your scent. It gets a tint of masculinity once your mated. It warns other males to back off."

He tilted his head down, grinning, and his mouth closed over mine. We kissed again, but this time it was hard and fierce instead of teasing and languorous. His hands were like a fast-burning fire: in my hair, on my body, caressing my throat.

I wrapped my arms around his waist and dug my fingers in, massaging, and he let out a low groan from deep inside his chest. I pulled him down so that he lay on top of me. Our bare skin slid together and his hips fit over mine.

I was acutely aware that the only barrier between us was his jeans. All this knowledge did was fuel the fire inside us. I wanted that barrier gone! I wanted to become one with him. Mates, Matches, bonded for life. And so I removed the barrier.
