Finding My Other Half

"On a brighter note," Dads voice rang through the room again. "My eldest son, Alexander, has found his Match. Newborn werewolf Madeline Fox is the newest member of our pack."

I stood, dragging Maddy up with me. I knew there was a huge grin on my face, but it wasn't from the choruses of cheers and howls and even the groans of a few disappointed Lunas. It was because Maddy's fingers were twined with mine and we were standing next to each other while the Alpha announced to the pack that she was my mate and I was hers, and we were made for each other.

There really is nothing like finding your other half, I thought as we sat down again. I leaned across the arm of my chair and pecked Maddy on the cheek. Or tried to. She turned her head at the last second, sensing my movement, and our lips touched instead. She pulled back, embarrassed, but I didn't mind.

I searched for Lisabella again and found her crouched and shifting from foot to foot. If looks could kill and glares could shoot fire, Maddy would be a smoking pile of charred ash.

"There will be a bonfire on the riverside tonight in their honour. Thankyou."

With that, the werewolves rose and filed out of the pack room. Maddy and I got stares and a few glares from the pack members as they passed. My pal Joshua gave me a thumbs up and a sly wink.
