I cracked up. Laughing, I picked Maddy up, sheets and all. One arm supported her back while the other cradled her legs. She kept her eyes closed as I heaved us up off the bed. Grinning, I placed her on the floor of the bathroom and pulled the extendable shower head off its stand.
She lay curled like a small child, tangled in blankets. So innocent.
Cold water sprayed from the head and drenched her. Unsurprisingly, her eyes flew open and she leaped up. What was surprising though, was the shriek she made. I started laughing, harder and harder, until I couldn't stop. I crouched on the tiled floor cackling while she stood over me, arms crossed, hair saturated, pyjamas drenched.
"You," she said slowly, "are sooo dead."
I grinned up at her. "Who, me? You can't even catch me!"
"No," she replied. "But I'm pretty sure Danny wouldn't say no to helping."
"I suppose you have a point there. Anyway, get dried off, you wet dog, because Dad's called a pack meeting."
Interest sparked in her eyes. "What's it about?"
"How do I know? Hurry up and we'll find out."
She padded away to her closet, brown hair dripping water onto the carpet, muttering something about a 'rude, pushy, stupid goddamn teenage male werewolf.'
I, of course, had no clue who she might have been referring to.
"You just described Danny perfectly," I shouted after her. She snorted and returned to undressing.
