It was a fool proof plan. With you being one of their best, and most emotionally detached agents, HYDRA sent you to find your way into the Avengers. Out of all your ideas this wasn't the one you expected to work. You never expected to have the Winter Soldier be the one to fall for you. You thought it'd be Steve, but out of no where Bucky came around and gave you his heart.

The only problem with this fool proof plan is that he may have taken yours as well. No one knows if it was one of his big romantic gestures or if it had been the small things he did for you on a regular basis, but there was no denying that you were completely infatuated with each other. That's why the sudden change of your mission statement was such a big deal.

(Y/n), you have done an impeccable job on your mission, but there has been a change in plans. Sergeant Barnes is said to be getting better and even regaining some of his memories that have to do with HYDRA. We can not let SHIELD retain this information under any circumstances.

We need you to exterminate the subject.

You stared at the email, torn on what to do. This was never the plan. The plan was to obtain information on how they plan to attack and relay that info back to your boss. No one was supposed to get hurt, but you weren't supposed to catch feelings either. Rather than responding to the message, you slammed your laptop close and began to pace. Millions of thoughts ran through your mind. Were you going to do it? If so how? You don't want it to be painful. It took you a long time to finally come to the conclusion that you couldn't do it, because as much as you hate to admit it, you love that man.

You dropped onto the couch and placed your hands on your forehead.

No! You can do it you just don't want to! You are a HYDRA agent and you should know that anything could be asked of you. You have to follow orders, no one wants to face their consequences.

Suddenly two hands were placed on your shoulders and they started to knead the knots. You groaned at the contact and fell back into his hands, knowing exactly who it was.

"Long day, Doll?" Bucky questioned as he leaned down to placed short, slow kisses on your shoulder.

"You could say that," You sighed as you let yourself relax into him.

"I'm sorry," He whispered as he continued the deep massage on you shoulders and back. This continued for a little while longer before he finally settled beside you and cuddled into your side. "I love you."

And it was those three words that caused guilt to run through your veins, to bring tears to your eyes, and to tear you apart from the inside. Your entire body tensed, and Bucky took quick notice of this.

You didn't know how to handle the situation. No one had ever told you they loved you before.

"You would hate me if you knew what I had planned." You finally choked out as Bucky stared at you curiously.

"Doll, what's wrong?" His hands cupped your cheeks as he stared deeply into your eyes. You started to shake your head, not wanting to admit the truth. Not wanting to risk losing the only person that's ever loved you, and the only person you've ever loved. "You can tell me." His forehead rested on yours as he wiped the tears that continuously fell from your eyes.

"I've not been completely honest with you. I'm not a good person." Sobs fell from your mouth as your body began to shake, the fear settling into me. "You're going to hate me. You won't want to see me ever again."

"Don't say that. We can work through anything. I promise you!" His hands clutched mine as he continued to coax me to revealing the truth.

"I'm," I stopped myself to cry out some more before continuing, "I'm a HYDRA agent, here to get information." Immediately I saw the betrayal in his eyes and he began to slowly back away. I lifted my knees to my chest and hugged them as I continued. "But they've sent me a new mission and I just can't go through with it."

"What is it?" His voice stern and unsure as he continued to stare at me. He saw my glance move from the floor to my laptop so he quickly grabbed it and flipped it open. I watched as his eyes scanned the mission statement and waited for him to look back at me.

"I was never supposed to fall in love, but I never stood a chance when you opened your mouth." I muttered as his blue eyes finally met my (e/c) ones. "I wasn't supposed to get attached to the Avengers. I was supposed to learn and report, and now they're going to kill me."

"(Y/n), we can protect you from them. We will make sure they never hurt you." He pushed my now messy hair from my face. His words were genuine and his eyes were filled with compassion and understanding. "We are gonna need you to spill some details on HYDRA though. It could help us take them down."

"No one gets hurt?" I asked hesitantly.

"No one gets hurt." He promised.
