"I can't believe you right now! You better have a damn good excuse young lady!" My father, Clint Barton, yelled as he slammed the door open.

I looked up from my laptop to see my dad fuming. I just rolled my eyes in response and let my gaze fall back onto the video I was watching.

"Hey! I'm talking to you!" My laptop was shut instantly and my eyes fell to my dad's hand on top of it.

"What? Do you want me to apologize or something?" His eyes widened at my snarky tone.

"You better watch your tone. Or else.."

"Or else what?!" I interrupted. "You're gonna ground me? Take away my technology?" I pushed my laptop towards him and threw my phone on the table. "Fine! I don't care anymore. Okay?"

I stormed to my bedroom, not even waiting to hear what he had to say. Though, I could hear him yelling to my mother in the living room. It wasn't too long until I heard him storming up the stairs with my mom trying to calm him down.

"What you did was not okay! A random boy drops you off at home and you're so drunk, you throw up on your mothers shoes!" He was so angry his face is red. "You should be embarrassed! Can you not show at least a little humility? Or could you at least tell us why you're behaving this way?"

"You wouldn't understand dad." I muttered, tears building up in my eye.

"Try me." He said with an annoyed chuckle. I didn't respond, but just stared at him in frustration trying to keep from crying. "That's what I thought. You're grounded for life kid"

"Did you know this is the longest you've paid attention to me in months! Maybe even a year!" I snapped as he turned to walk out the door, my mother behind him with her hand on her forehead. "Ever since you joined those stupid avengers its like it's all you can think about! And even when you are home, all of your attention is on kids! You don't ever make time for me!"

"If you wanted attention this was not the way to go about it!" My dad yelled back at me.

"Well, it worked didn't it?!" I started crying at this point. "All I want is for you to choose me! Choose me to drag to the grocery store with you! Choose me to pick up early from school as a surprise cause your only gonna be home for a day! Choose me to go on a walk with! Choose me for anything! I would do anything you asked me to do, dad! I never get to see you anymore."

My dads face fell and he moved forward to sit on my with me.

"Honey, I see you all the time." He grabbed my hands with his calloused ones.

"No, you don't. You don't know anything that's going on in my life." I cried, falling into his arms.

"Like what? What don't I know?" He asked, rubbing my back.

"That wasn't a random boy that dropped me off, dad. That was my boyfriend of 6 months." I pulled back to gauge his reaction. "I've been trying to tell you about him for so long. He's really great."

"He's your what?" He asked in shock. I could only giggle at his response, wiping the tears from my face.

"You'd really like him if you gave him a chance." I whispered.

He didn't answer but stared at me with wide eyes and a gaping mouth.

"I think you broke your father." My mom laughed, placing a hand on his shoulder.

"(Y/n), I'm sorry if I've forgotten about you lately. I really thought that you were too old to think hanging out with your dad would be cool or fun. I'm going to choose you more often." He stood and placed a kiss on my forehead. "And we're gonna talk more about that boy tomorrow! I'm gonna kill him." He whispered the last sentence as he left my room.

"Goodnight sweetie, I'm gonna go get interrogated about your boyfriend." My mom winked at me closing my bedroom door.

I laughed at the thought and pulled my blankets to my chin, knowing my dad would stick to his word.
