Raiders {part.1}

  The next morning I woke up feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. I don't know why, but I had a good feeling about today everything would be perfect. I dressed in a long white halter dress and wore my gladiator shoes. I went to the dining hall and ate my breakfast alone again. I was half way to my study when Rolin ran towards me looking frantic.

  "Your majesty there is an emergency, please follow me to the war room," he said.

  I could only nod and follow, a sick feeling began to form in the pit of my stomach.  In the war room stood all of my closest advisers, the lieutenant, and all the council members.

  "Some one tell me what happened now," I said.

  "Your majesty, the Land of Diligitis was raided. Some of the buildings were burned down, and a group of around a hundred people are left homeless and burned. They sent out a message to us early this morning, we hadn't received it till moments ago," Lieutenant Malcom said in a rush.

  "Could they identify the flag that the raiders used," I asked.

  The Lieutenant shook his head. The Land of Diligitis specialized in the art of love, beauty, desire, and procreation. They were also the weakest of us all that's why they were placed in the inner circle. The Lord and Lady Diligitis were lovely people, they just had a terrible problem with matchmaking. The people of the land did not believe in hatred, they chose to spread kindness a trait that is always favorable.

  "General I want you to saddle up my horse and bring ten of your best guards we will head to Diligitis to assess the damage. I also want you to tell Angelica to bring my medicine bag and fill it with my burn creams," I said quickly. "We will regroup in an hour, let it be known throughout the kingdom what has happened. We're going to need as much help as possible," I said finally.

   I left the room in a panic, in all my ten years as Queen no one has dared tried to hurt my kingdom. I was beyond livid, when I find out who did this, they would feel my wrath.

  The horses were ready and I was speeding towards Diligitis. Upon arrival I could smell the smoke and burning of flesh, and felt sick to my stomach. In front of me I could see small children with soot on their face huddling in a corner crying. Building that used to be grand homes laid in shambles on the floor. Clothes were barely hanging on to the bodies of the people. Looking towards the guards I sent out my order.

"I want three of you to search the forest and see if you can find any raiders. And if you do I want you to bring only one back to the castle alive, kill the rest," I commanded.

  "Yes My Queen," the three said in unison.

  I got off my horse and walked through the city.

  "I want the two of you to round up as many kids as possible and bring them to the local hospital," I said.

  "Of course My Queen," they said.

"The rest of you help rebuild and salvage anything from the wreckage, any burned survivors will be sent to the hospital. The dead will have a proper burial when this mess is all cleaned up. Do you understand?," I questioned. They all nodded. "Good then go now, report to the hospital when you are done here," I said.

I hopped back on my horse and rode towards the local hospital. Inside I could hear the cries of scared children and the panic in the nurses voices.

"Your majesty thank the heavens that you're here, we're at a shortage of nurses and we ran out of burn creams two hours ago and we don't know what to do," a female nurse said.
