Poem 2: Normal

My childhood
I don't remember most of it.
Some are fun
Like swings and crafts
Others haunt me
I try not to remember them
I don't want to
I want to be a normal girl
Who had lollipops and read at night

But that's not the case
No one read to me
I read to myself
To try and drown out the noise
I hated the yelling
And the crying

I just want to be a normal girl
That's all I ask
