He was getting worse. The end would be within the next few days.

"Hey, honey." Frank kissed him.

Gerard just moaned, eyelids fluttering.

"I know, baby." He pulled Gerard up to sit against him, picking up a hairbrush.

He slowly and gently stroked Gerard's thinning hair, being careful not to hurt him.

"Frank..." He whispered in a raspy voice.

"Yeah, honey?"

"Move on..." He swallowed thickly. "When I'm g-gone..."

"Gerard."

"Promise me..."

"Okay. I promise." Frank kissed the base of his neck softly. "I'm gonna have a little boy, name him Gerard. Then I'll raise him on stories of the amazing man he's named after."

"I love you." Gerard's voice was soft and thin.

"I love you too." Frank set down the brush and just held Gerard close. He inhaled a scent so Gerard he thought he would cry.

Gerard fell asleep in his arms feeling safe and comfortable.

"You awake, baby?" Frank caressed his cheek.

Gerard squeezed his hand faintly.

"Okay, honey. We're all here with you. We're all right here."

Slits of brown eyes appeared. He moaned softly.

"Hey, baby." Frank stroked his hair.

"L-lights." He groaned.

"Too bright?" His brother's voice offered.

"Mmh." He whined.

Ray dimmed the lights.

He wheezed, coughing softly. Someone was crying. Frank's soft hands ran though his hair.

"Frank." He whispered.

"Yeah, Gee?" He pressed his lips to Gerard's forehead.

His breathing became more labored as he lolled his head so the side to face his husband, smiling faintly. He'd said it without words: I love you.

"I love you too, sweetheart." He hugged him gently.

Frank didn't want to think of a memory today. He just wanted to be with Gerard.
