I realized that I didn't post what Janis' tattoo looked like or where it was. The picture is her Tattoo symbolizing her position in the sin's, and it is located on her stomach, just above her bellybutton. She has another tattoo which symbolizes her role as an balance bringer between life, death, and nature. It is located on the back of her neck, and in my story it was required that all Banshees have one of these.

This is the Five fold symbol; some historians believe that this represents equality between life, death, nature, man, and the Gods (There are a lot of versions of this, so I was just going off of what I found

This is the Five fold symbol; some historians believe that this represents equality between life, death, nature, man, and the Gods (There are a lot of versions of this, so I was just going off of what I found.) I wanted to connect Janis to her culture, and this seemed like a good way to do it.

If you can't tell, I am basing Janis off of Celtic mythology, I'm trying not to make her Merida from Brave, but that is almost exactly how I view her, minus the bow and arrows, and a lot more grown up. I studied how Banshees were seen in that culture, and they were described in two ways, either as an ugly hag that was draped in a black cloak or a beautiful woman with red hair that wore a loose red or green dress. Apparently the banshee could shift between these two appearances, and walked the land, singing mournful tunes for the dead.
