*Ben's pov*

I walked out of the darkness and stopped when I saw a huge castle. I walked a little bit more but stopped when I came to a ledge. I looked to my right when I heard a screeching sound, it looked like a hand from a clock. I didn't even think about my fear, I just ran then jumped but I slipped. I quickly grabbed onto the ledge,I looked around then saw another hand. When the one I was holding onto got near it I let go, then I quickly ducked. I got up.

Me: "I have been spending to much time with my dare devil girlfriend."

I chuckled then ran to the other side. I opened the gate to go inside the big castle.

Me: "Hello?"

I looked around as my voice echoed through the room.

Me: "Is anybody here?"

I watched as a little clock person ran away. But I quietly followed it, I saw a figure walking from another hall way so I went behind a wall. "Is that Time?" I thought. Suddenly the man fell down.

Man: "Stupid me-shaped corridor."

The clock struck twelve causing the man to sigh. He had blue eyes, black hair and a mustache.

Man: "Will this day never end?"

I watch as he starts walking.

Man: "It clings to me like a pair of sweaty pantaloons."

He walked into a room, I looked at the name. It said 'Underlandians Living' I looked in the room. Time turned around and looked at the clocks.

Time: "Who has stopped? Who has ticked...their last tock? Tock..their last tick."

He starts reading out names.

Time: "Ah. Brilliam..Hinkle."

I watch a clock be lowered to Time, he took it off the hook then looked at it.

Time: "Brilliam Hinkle. Your time is up."

I gasp when he starts walking towards me. I quickly hide and watch him walk into a darker room.

Time: "Let's put you away, Mr. Hinkle..in the right place, like alphabetical order."

I looked up and saw the name, it said 'Underlandians Deceased'. He starts reading out names, I listen close.

Time: "Ah, Higgens. Highbottoms. Not here yet....Ah, Hinkle."

He puts the clock on a hook.

Time: "I hope you were happy. I hope you used your time well. Good night."

I sighed I was going to turn around but I hit the gate which made a loud squeaky sound.

Time: "Hmm."

He turns around.

Time: "Who is there?..how did you get in? It is impossible."

I try to hide more.

Time: "Come out, you little, wriggling worm!"

I sighed then walked out, he had the look of relief and disappointed.

Time: "Oh. It's a boy."

Me: "Please, sir. I'm sorry to disturb you...but if I could just have a moment of your time."

He walks past me chuckling.

Time: "Time?"

He stops.

Time: "Young man. I am...Time."

He threw out his hands and a cloak came down.

Time: "The infiniti...the eternal...the immortal...the immeasurable. Unless you have a clock. So, being Time...I must give some of myself...for you to have me. Are you following what I'm saying?"

A part of me understood what he was saying.

Me: "Yes."

Time: "Really? Oh."

We stood in silence for a few seconds then he asked.

Time: "Do you promise to be concise?"

Me: "I really..."

Time: "Because if there's one thing I do not like, it is...people who are unable, unwilling, or, um..un...uh..uh..uncompelled to form short sentences."

Me: "My friend and love are in danger."

Time: "Enough of your incessant jabbering!.I have important work to do."

He walks away but ran after him.

Me: "Hey! You haven't answered my question."

He stops then turns to me.

Time: "One minute. Why do you carry that fallen soldier in your pocket? Reveal him now."

I took out my grandfather's watch, it broke years ago. It is the only thing I have left of him.

Time: "It is broken. Kaput."

Me: "It was my grandfather's. I can never see myself parting with it."

Time: "Everyone parts with everything eventually, my boy."

He walked away then I followed.
