The night went on with us talking about Amelia's future and how Nick had a vacant house back on the hill he lives on. Amelia would be close and safe. I held Nick's hand to the car and let go when we got in I didn't touch his hand after. We drove back home in silence.

Amelia had an uber follow us. Nick's phone rang right before he got out of the car. He handed me the keys. I got up and went to the door. They entered and he gestured me to go in and then I heard "yes I will come by, if I must." I walked back to him.

"Where you going?"

"Uhm I have to go to the office."

"Nick please don't..."

"I'm sorry." He got in the car and drove away.

Nick

I pressed the button and the car started humming on. I backed out of the driveway and saw Cassie's figure fade away. When I got to the hotel I ran upstairs to her room. I knocked once and the door opened. She laid on the bed with a rose in her mouth and in her skimpiest lingerie. "I really shouldn't be here."

"I told you the night we met."

"Lauren seriously. I really don't want to be here."

"Then why'd you come?"

"I don't...." Why did I come? Did I want her?

She got up and slipped off the robe she was wearing and wrapped her arms around my waist. She hugged me and then took a great big breath of me. She took off my jacket and then my belt. "Lauren."

"Shut up." She unbuttoned my shirt while looking up at me. Her green eyes looked at me in an enticing way. "Let's play."

"I don't want to."

"Mm no, maybe not your mind but someone does." She looked down and then I did. Fuck I was hard. She unclasped her bra and threw me on the bed. "Lauren please."

I wiped the counter tops again. How many times was this? Six, seven? I watched the clock. Every minute passed by. I didn't have to worry but I did. I walked to his bedroom and took off the dress and grabbed the pajamas that I left in his closet. I put them on and walked to the bed. I put my phone into his charger and went to sleep.
