Kai's P.O.V

I woke up to the old sound of the same birds chirping away in the snowy forest. I swear, one day, I'll hunt those birds down and serve them for dinner.

I groaned and slowly sat up on my cozy bed, rubbing my tired eyes and stretching my arms above my head.

"Be careful! You might burn them even more!"

I heard familiar yelling from outside my closed door.

Oh great. Please don't tell me they are trying to cook again.

Last time this happened, they not only burnt the food, they almost set our whole wooden house on fire.

I gasped at the horrible memory and hurriedly ran to my door, swinging it open and running fast down the hallway, and into the kitchen where I was greeted with a fowl smell.

"Oh, good morning sleepy head! Hope you like burnt eggs and blueberries!" Jax greeted jokingly once he spotted me standing at the doorway with wide eyes.

"Guys?! What have I told you about trying to cook? Remember what happened last time!?" I exclaimed in a stern tone while walking closer to the werewolf couple, covering my nose at the smell of burnt eggs.

"We thought we'd try and improve, and you always make us the meals so we wanted to learn!" Ryder smiled and rubbed the back of his neck.

"That's sweet, but maybe I can teach you sometime instead." I laughed and sat down at the table while Jax and Ryder set the meal in front of me and sat down in their usual spots.

"Honestly guys, how do you manage to burn eggs?" I laughed and eyed the almost fully black 'eggs'.

"It was Ryder's fault! I tried to tell him to turn the fire temperature down but Mr. 'I-Know-Best' insisted that it was the correct temperature." Jax whined and crossed his arms away from Ryder.

"H-Hey! It's your fault for believing me!" Ryder argued and crossed his arms the other way.

I laughed in response "My Irene, you two" I smiled and plopped a blueberry into my mouth. At least they knew that blueberries didn't need to be cooked.

"You can cook something better up for yourself if you want, blueberries won't be enough.." Ryder admitted and looked down.

I dragged my attention towards Ryder.

Dang, he genuinely looked disappointed in himself.

"Nah, it's fine, I'll be eating your famous burnt eggs too" I giggled and saw Ryder face light up.

"You hear that Jax? We've created a new recipe!" Ryder screeched and grabbed Jax's arms.

"I can assure you that this has most likely been done before by some other know-it-all werewolf" Jax joked and pinched Ryder's cheek.

"W-Whatever!" Ryder frowned and tried to hide his obvious blushing face.

I laughed at the pair again. They always brought happiness to my world, no matter what the situation was. Even if they are troublemakers, all the trouble they caused was probably done by their clumsiness and lack of knowledge.

"But you're my favourite know-it-all!" Jax flirted and smiled brightly while wrapping his arm tightly around Ryder.

Ryder just growled in response and continued to hide his blushing face.
