"An awesome story...I couldn't even keep my phone away for charging... The characters are very well described and so are the incidents."

-Judge of The 2019 Talent Awards

Sly as a Fox is not your average "werewolf" story. Know that to begin with.

It isn't a love story or some epic romance. It starts out with a budding relationship, but it's more than that; this is the story of these characters' lives coming together and trying to weave into each other, sometimes violently crashing together. It explores the complexities of modern relationships, and not just those of a romantic sort. It has romance, sure, but Sly as a Fox is the lens through which we are introduced to an entirely new world and new species.

I wrote this story to reflect real life. The history and legends that I have woven into the fabric of this story have evolved from thousands of years before and, as languages and legends do, they have evolved and spread as people have. On that same note, I wrote this as a bit of a think-piece, not only for myself but for others. It touches on many different subjects from racism (specism, for species in this book), cultural identities, abuse, relationships, cultural norms, and other topics that are relevant to our lives in the real world.

And because I wrote this story to reflect the real world, my characters are not perfect. They all have flaws and struggle with the trauma from their past. Everyone in this story, just like everyone of you, have different experiences and people that shape you into the person you are today. That means that, often times, you will have differing opinions and viewpoints than the person sitting next to you. And that's okay, as long as you can learn from each other.

I hope that's something at least someone can get out of this story: To learn. To think. To feel. Because this book isn't just a werewolf book, it isn't just a fantasy book, it isn't just a romance. It's a story about the complexities of life and the workings of fate itself. This story starts out light and humorous, but turns and evolves into something more, something darker than it once was.

My characters change and learn from the experiences in this story, just like we all do. The story, just like the characters, starts out very light and a bit comedic at times, but it turns into something deeper and darker as the characters grow. They change their opinions or their viewpoint on things as they go along, as they try to view something from all of its angles, which is something that we all strive to do. So just remember all of that if you ever disagree or decide you don't care for one of my characters, because, more than likely, your own viewpoint will be discussed at some point. This is a story about accepting not only who you are, but also who others are.

My characters aren't perfect because no one on this planet is perfect.

But isn't that the beauty of life?
