Willow

As our kiss intensified with each second the stars allowed us, Blithe's body leaned into mine more and more and I was loving being in his company in this intimate way. Not only was this was our first kiss, but it was also mine. Ever. It was beyond perfect, being gentle while also being passionate. This kiss was better than I had ever could have imagined. His lean, muscled body was pressing against mine and it felt so perfect and just...right. Like the stars really did have a say in setting us up, and this was their way of validating Blithe and I as mates to one another.

And I did something that was both unexpected and a admittedly a little scary: I accepted it.

Maybe it was just the rush of adrenaline from my first kiss with my mate or my hormones going crazy because I was in the presence of my mate, but everything just felt like this is how it was supposed to be all along. On another level, I accepted his affection simply because I was aware it would be a while before he would grow a pair and be the mate that I deserve - that anyone deserves - so I might as well relish in the good times before the bad times would rear their ugly head once more.

Blithe's lips moved against mine with such a tender passion, it was driving my senses insane. With the soft wind blowing through the trees and tree frogs croaking peacefully in the background, Blithe's lips moved against mine gently, trapping us both in a stolen moment in time. Of course with my cynical personality, I couldn't help but wonder how long this could last, but another stroke against my lips made me push aside my pessimism, if only for the time being.

My breath was nearly drawn straight from my lungs when I opened my eyes enough just to peek up at Blithe, the once somewhat mostly cloudy night sky now completely clear and vibrant with the astral bodies' presence. The natural landscape surrounding us just set the mood even further and the dim lighting from the sky shined down on us like a spotlight. I closed my eyes to re-enter the kiss as I leaned back onto my elbows, allowing Blithe to hover above me further. I felt vulnerable like this, but in a strange way where I was more than happy to relinquish control.

Blithe made a rumble in his chest as the heat from his body radiated off from him, warming me like my own personal heater. A few more strokes were all that I had left in me before my elbows started to ache from holding my weight up against the wood and I pulled away reluctantly. His hot breath fanned my face as he looked down at me, admiring me for a few seconds more. He moved to sit beside me again and I had the foreign sensation of missing his lips against mine.

He looked just as full with happiness as I felt when he looked down at me, his black eyes radiating bliss. "Thank you, Willow," his voice was soft, contrasting greatly with the harsh tone it had taken on just hours prior; I still had the wound on my neck to prove it.

I cocked my head to the side and with a smile that I couldn't hold back, I asked, "For what, wolfie?" I knew I wasn't good at nicknames, but it was too stupidly cute not to use at least once.

His smile deepened, making butterflies flutter in my abdomen as he shook his head at his nickname. "For still wanting to be with me, even after what I did to you. You know," Blithe laid himself back down beside me, his back flat against the wooden structure as he stared up at the stars with a sense of knowing in his eyes that had me curious, "I was honestly expecting an apology from you at first, but I was the idiot who needed to apologize to you." He turned his head to the side and looked me in the eyes while his hand moved and took my own in its grasp, squeezing once they were united. I had to actually hold back a gasp from escaping my lips when I saw his eyes were sparkling and wet, never imagining that the usually stone-walled Blithe was capable of such raw emotion.
