Chapter Thirty-Nine: Flashforward/Singing (Kelsey)

*3 YEARS LATER*

"Kelsey, you are the love of my life, I don't know what I'd do without you. Three years ago, when I... we almost lost you, I didn't know what I was going to do. I still have no idea what I would've done. You are mine and I vow to never hurt you, to protect you, and to love you forever. I love you."

I feel a tear come down my cheek.

"Calum Hood. You.... you.... are the love of my life. Three years ago, I thought I was going to die happy just because I was with you, but now, I know that is even more true. I'll die happy because I got through the rough times with your help and because I got to marry the love of my life. You are the only reason that I smiled during those six months of pure frustration and you're the only reason I still genuinely smile now. I still can't believe we've made it this far and I love you."

"Calum Thomas Hood, do you take Kelsey Grace Irwin, to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

"I do."

"Kelsey Grace Irwin, do you take Calum Thomas Hood to be your---"

"I do."

"By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you man and wife. You may now kiss the bride."

Calum looks me in the eyes, puts his hands gently on my cheeks, and kisses me, with that same spark the first time he kissed me.

When the kiss breaks, he hugs me tightly then grabs my hand and raises it in the air like I won a boxing match, then starts walking back down the aisle.

We get to the reception and I stand there with Calum in the corner, him hugging me from behind, letting me know I was only his. I look up at the stage and see Asthon walk out to the microphone. 

"Hello everybody. Um... well... as you guys probably know, I am the best man. And I know this wasn't really planned, but if you guys don't mind, Michael, Luke, and I would like to play the song for the bride and groom's first dance."

I look up at Calum. He lets me out of the hug and grabs my hand and drags me out to the dance floor.

Michael and Luke walk out and take their places on the stage. 

"This song was written by Calum quite a few years ago, and we want you all to hear it."

Luke starts singing.
