The Date

Maya's P.O.V

"Soooo" I prompted 

"Soooo" Carlos mimicked me

"Where are we going for this-" I stopped short. Were we on a date?

"Well we can be if you want" Carlos said

Crap. Did I say that out loud?

"Yeah, you did" He answered laughing

"I said that out loud too!" I practically screamed in his face

He laughed at me "Well..." He trailed off "Is it a date?"

"I don't know" I said as we continued walking "Your the one who asked me" I said smirking

"Well then" He raised his eyebrows "I would say, it is a date"

"Lovely" I smiled "So now that we have confirmed were on a date"

"Definitely a date" 

"Where are we going, on this date?" I asked 

"Well wouldn't you like to know" He smirked

"Yes, I would, that's kinda why I asked" I sassed right back

"Well lucky for you, you don't have to wait much longer" He said

Only then did I realize that we had gone off campus, and were walking in the woods. Well thats a new one.

We walked a little longer in a comfortable silence, until Carlos stopped out of no where.

"You alright?" I asked

"Never better" He smiled down at me "Close your eyes" I looked out him funny, and he sighed "Trust me May" 

I don't know if it was the tone in his voice, or just the fact that it was Carlos. But I hesitantly closed my eyes. I felt him place his hands on my shoulders, but even though I knew it was him, I jumped out of his touch. Instinct...

"S-sorry" I stuttered, trying my best to relax

"Maya" He whispered in my ear, sending shivers down my spine "I got you, your fine. I promise, I'm not gonna hurt you" I just nodded my head, not trusting my voice

He placed his hands on my shoulders once more, this time I didn't shy away. He lead me over branches, rock, and anything else that made a crunching noise underneath my shoes.

"I swear if your leading me out in the woods to kill me De Vil" I said laughing

He laughed as well "Don't worry, I don't think your going to have to worry about that. But" He said his tone changing "Were here"

He slowly uncovered my eyes, and what I saw in front of me was breath taking. In the middle of the woods was, fairy lights hanging from the trees, giant bean bag chairs, and loads of pillows everywhere, a projector set up with movies, and tons of food.

I looked at Carlos with wide eyes "You did all this, for me?"

"Well" He rubbed the back of his neck "I did have a little help from Ben, but-"

I cut him off with I hug "Thank you" I whispered into his neck, as I felt his arms wind around my waist "It's perfect"

"Your welcome" He whispered back, his grip tightening around me. We both stood there like that for a good couple of minuets, us both in our own worlds.

We finally let go of each other, and just gave each other goofy smiles. "After you" Carlos teased me

I snorted and plopped myself down on one of the bean bags, as he did the same on my left. "You know what this reminds me of?" I hummed

"What?"

"When we were back on the Isle, and you hacked into the system for a couple hours, so we could watch movies" I laughed

"I remember that" He laughed with me

We both fell silent for a minuet. "So, what do you want to watch?" Carlos asked

"Anything really"

"Great because we only have one movie" He smiled cheekily at me, as I laughed at him

We were about halfway through the movie when I finally worked up the nerve to ask something, I've been wanting to for a couple days "Do, do you ever think about..." I trailed off

"Yeah?" He encouraged me to go on

"Never mind" I said as I tucked a piece of hair behind my ear

"Come on" He nudged me with his shoulder "You can tell me"

"Well" I sighed "Do you ever think about...not stealing the wand and going back to the Isle" I said quickly

He fell silent. "I'm sorry, I knew it was stupid-"

"No! No!" He cut me off "It's not actually" He admitted looking down

"It's not?"

"No I uh, I actually think about it alot too" He nodded his head 

"And uh" I said playing with the hem of my dress "There's something I haven't been telling you"

"What?" His face turned to concerned 

"We are out on a date, correct?" 

"Last time I checked" He smiled

"Well" I let out a shaky breath "If we go back to the Isle, with or without the wand, I am going to end up being beaten, by my mother, again" I said slowly

"B-but why?" He stuttered

"Well, ya know" I said trying not to cry in front of him, again "Because I like you" I said quietly

He lifted up my chin to look at him "Hey look at me" He cooed softly "I promise, that I'm never going to let anything happen to you, ok?" He said

I lunged at him, latching my arms around his neck. I just let the silent tears fall as he rubbed my back comfortingly.

"Ya know" I let out a wet laugh "We've only been here a couple weeks, and I think I'm already a little more like 'prin-' Audrey" I changed my choice of wording

Carlos laughed "May, I know you call Audrey, 'princess', you have good reason to, as well"

I laughed with him "Thanks, for everything"

We stared into each others eyes, until we found ourselves inching closer, and closer, and closer. Until our lips finally touched. 

It was like magic. And not like Mal's magic. Like real magic. The kind my mom would call pathetic, or wimpy, but it wasn't. I had never felt stronger than I did, kissing Carlos.

We both broke apart after a couple of minuets, breathless. We rested our foreheads together, our breathing in sync. "Wow" Carlos breathed out, as I giggled
