in hopes

illusion

must know

for as long
as you think

will bleed
blister
and crack
and then
you realize
maybe
it's time
to let

don't have to
use my words
to your advantage
you can still
try
maybe you
are stronger
than me
but let me
tell you
your hands
will never be
as soft
or as welcoming
to love
again
