i shake my foot
to try to move you
to wherever
i can't feel you
as i walk
you ride backward
slowly
i shake my foot again
just trying
to ignore it
but no matter
how many times
i readjust
i can't stop
being reminded
you're there
i could just
carefully untie
my shoe
and shake you out
but no
i'm to tired
to empty
and feelingless
to complete
even that
the simplest
of actions
become
breathtakingly
aggravating
and with you still
coming back
i will
never
take off
this shoe.
