"What are you doing here? And how do you know what dorm room I'm in?" I ask while setting him down on a blanket on the floor.

"Lucky guess?" He coughs up some blood.

"Oh God. Xavier!!" I yell, "Get out of the bathroom and come here!"

Xavier practically sprints out of the bathroom, "What.. Jared!" Xavier runs to Jared's side.

"I'll be fine. Nothing lethal," Jared says.

Xavier sighs in relief. "So, no real alarms yet?"

"No."

"What the hell is going on?" I ask Xavier.

"Nothing yet. I'm just going to make Bryce take him to a hospital. That's all," he explains. "Everything's gonna be all right."

"Okay," I say.

"Oh, yeah, and I may be staying the night a couple more times." He adds.

"Why?" I ask

"Let's just call it safety reasons," he answers.

"What do I need to be protected from?"

"Everything."

I think now is a good time to shut up, so I don't argue.

Xavier holds me while Bryce and Justin practically carry Jared out of the dorms.

"Will he be okay?" I ask.

"Of course he will." Xavier says.

We finally break all physical contact so that we can lie down on the bed.  I'm so tired, I can barely keep my eyes open, but I can't stop thinking about Jared.

How does he know what dorm I stay in? Why did he come here instead of the hospital?

What is going on?  And most of all, why do I need to be protected?

But before I could even think of any answer to the questions in my head, I found myself dreaming.
