FRIENDSHIP

If I ever find you down,

If your face is covered with a frown,

If in the ocean of sorrow you're ready to drown,

If you're about to wear tension and anxiety as your crown -

You'll find me there by your side, friend,

Providing you strength even after all hope seems to end.

Because when years ago, I declared you my friend,

You should have known that it is a bond that will never end.

Ups and downs - we have gone through them together,

Discovering life - we've kept moving further.

You've seen me sad, you've seen me being mad,

Yet stood by me - hand in hand.

So much so that we invented our own new dictionary,

No longer did I need words to express my feelings.

With you, not even one day of my life ended without a smile,

And if this continues what more can I ask of life?

With you, there was no fear of being judged,

You already knew my best and worst.

With you, all secrets I can share,

Because I know, no matter what, you will care.

Oh friends! You are so very rare.

Supporting, guiding, motivating and even scolding,

You helped me as life kept unfolding.

So I tell you - your concern and encouragement,

For me, they really meant a lot.

So whenever I describe my school life,

You'll realise you occur in every single mile

In all the memories and achievements that I bear,

I assure you, you always had a share.

Tests of time and distance our friendship did survive,

Neither the heat of misunderstanding nor the frost of a terrible strife,

Could manage to crack a single hole in this bond.

No trouble had that power even if it kept coming round and round.
