GOODBYE

I know you'll miss these good old school days

Waiting for the bell of the break to ring

Walking down those coridoors, climbing those staircases

Sitting on the backbenches, hiding from the teachers to tell your BFF those recent tales.

I know you'll miss dressing up for school each day

Putting on that blazer that seemed so familiar now a days

Entering the gates of the place that is now second place to you

And meeting those friends rather family who made your life colourful with their unique hue.

I know you're going to miss those Confuence days

Choreographing those dances or preparing those medleys

I know when you look at the medals you won at the Sports Day

You will be reminded of the practices in the field, oh! How you loved to play.

I know you're going to miss finding those acids and bases in the Chemistry Lab

Struggling to remove the parallax to get the correct answers for the graphs

That skeleton that lay and shall forever lie in the Bio Lab

The rush to fill the water bottles from the taps

Fighting time to complete the balance sheets to get that extra mark.

I know you're going to standing in the line for the morning assemblies

Having a gala good time in the library

Even those nightmares that gave you a nightmare are now a part of a big memory called St Joseph's Academy

These millions of memories won't just fit in a diary.

These fulfilling thirteen years, they now seem such a short time

Those classmates, juniors, seniors who gave you memories that will last your whole life

I know you'll miss them all every time the thought of your alma mater passes by.

So as we bid you farewell

We wish you fly high so that your alma mater tells your tale with great pride

We wish that when you return to this place even years later, you still say with pride – I am a Josephite

And when people ask you – After all this time?

You still say with a smile – Always.

This poem was dedicated to my seniors on the day of the farewell.
