ALL THAT WAS

It wasn't the tears that I was shedding but the ones that I was withholding that tore me apart

It wasn't the sadness I was disclosing but the smiles that I was faking that broke my heart

It was never the darkness of the night but the fear of losing that spark of light within me that scared me

It wasn't the fear of losing you but the fear of losing my heart with you that brought me worry.

Your algorithms and laws never fascinated me

It was always the stars which whispered the stories of different galaxies

Always the wind that took me beyond all that was created by humanity

Always the clouds that spoke stories of a hundred centuries -

That could ever hold my attention

That to my heart could ever gain a rightful admission

For you see, it was never the celebrations that brought me delight

But the serene beauty of the silence that made me shine.
