Jade-

His eyes felt far heavier than normal after sleeping. Jade yawned and began to stretch beneath the thick blankets when he felt something warm press up against his chest. His hazy mind couldn't figure out what it could be. Leaning forward, he nuzzled into the softness he found and inhaled. The familiar scent forced Jade to open his heavy eyelids. It was dark in the room, but when he looked over at the clock on the nightstand, the faint numbers blurred together, refusing to tell him the time.

Turning his attention back to the person pressed against him, Jade felt his lips tug upward at the sight before him. Jake was flush against him, his shirt from earlier that evening somehow missing. Even in the darkness, Jade could faintly see with the moonlight filtering in through the blinds covering the window if he focused.

Jake looked absolutely gorgeous beside him. The blanket had been pushed downward as they'd slept, leaving his chest and belly completely exposed. Jade wondered how he hadn't awoken, as he tended to keep the house cool and his fan always on high. He wasn't upset about the young man being asleep, though.

His eyes ate the younger man up hungrily, but he refused to touch him more-so than they already were. With the long list of strict rules he kept for other people, he had several for himself, too. They weren't nearly as broad, but he never broke them. Feeling someone up while they were asleep, without previous consent, was definitely high on his list of things he would not do, even if he found himself desperately wanting to.

Rolling onto his back with a mute sigh, he lifted his tired eyes to the ceiling and allowed time to continue passing.

A loud blaring sound jerked Jade out of his dream. He gasped, sitting up so quickly that he sent Jake falling into his lap. It took Jade's cloudy mind a few moments to realize that the young man had likely been resting on his chest, or at least half way. Jake groaned and rolled over, allowing him to look up at Jade in the dim room. The sun was just barely starting to peak in through the window.

"Good morning, sir." Jake mumbled as he yawned, then rolled back over onto his stomach and sighed, eyes closing.

Unsure of whether Jake had gone back to sleep or was just resting, Jade reached down and gently ran his fingers through the other man's messy hair. The quiet hum from Jake drew a smile from Jade as he continued the attention.

"Good morning, Jacob. Did you sleep well?" He asked as he carefully got himself situated against the headboard. Jake followed nearly seamlessly, reminding Jade of a small puppy just seeking attention from its master.

"Yes, sir. Until you startled me awake." He said, chuckling quietly.

Jade shook his head and reached down, grasping Jake under his arms and easily pulling him up against his chest. Jake immediately snuggled in, and Jade noted that he did indeed have his shirt on still.

My dream was a bit ambitious.

The thought made his chest rise and fall with quiet laughter, drawing Jake's attention up to his face. "What is funny, Sir?" He asked, curiosity clear in his gentle eyes.

"Your master has an odd mind, is all." Jade said.

Jake tilted his head at his words, but Jade wasn't sure what had sounded strange. He looks like a confused puppy. He thought as he continued to run his fingers through the man's hair as his other arm held him close. When neither of them spoke, nor looked away from each other for several moments, Jake licked his lips, frowned, then dropped his gaze for a moment before returning it to settle just beneath Jade's eyes.
