Prologue

Explosions rumbled through the solemn air and bloodied ground as battle cries and agonized screams rung, creating a sickening cacophony to the young teen girl. Her pupil-less lilac colored eyes narrowed as thick crimson rolled down her temple, down to her jaw, like a roaring river placed in slow motion. A curtain of silky indigo slid down her shoulders, matted in dirt and blood, as delicate eyebrows dipped down in a frown. Her chunin hunter green vest long forgotten somewhere in the battlefield, her indigo long sleeved shirt torn to reveal her pale flat stomach and arms, her matching slacks tattered, and her black zori-somehow-still in tact. Veins bulged furiously on her temples as she activated her family's kekkei genkai, lines pronouncing her seemingly gone pupils, with her vision fading of all color and expanding far and wide and all around in a three hundred and sixty degree angle.

"What do you see?"

Three sounds of bodies landing next to her rung in her ears as her enhanced vision let her see her teammates, one of them being a large white-furred dog. She smiled slightly in greeting and answered her cloaked teammate's question, "Quadrens are holding up and Quadren Three is having trouble keeping back the ever-growing white mass of chakra." Her cloaked teammate grunted in approval as her Inuzuka teammate sighed, his calloused hand absently stroking his companion's matted fur. "Never thought we'd be in a war. It seems just like yesterday we were genin: young and innocent." She could see a frown marring her teammate's tanned face as his usually bright and goofy eyes were downcast with sorrow. The four jonin of Team Kurenai were solemnly quiet with her focused on what lied ahead of them, forcing herself not to let the events of the past get to her. "After this, shall we go get some tea?" The cloaked Aburame asked, surprisingly breaking the silence that settled itself among them. They looked at the Aburame heir in shock and minutes later, they broke into bright smiles and grins. "Yeah! And Kurenai-sensei can come with us!" The Inuzuka grinned with his ninken barking in agreement as she smiled softly. "A-and maybe little Kasai-kun can join us." She added with her teammates agreeing with her. A menacingly deep roar broke the joyful air of Team Kurenai. They looked towards the direction the roar came from and they gasped, horror marring their faces.

The Jūbi had finally come.

She heard the Inuzuka gulp at the size and killing intent the tailed beast leaked out amoungst them. "U-um, one question," He started as he pointed a shaking finger at the beast, "HOW ARE WE GONNA BEAT THAT?!" She flinched at the loudness of her teammate as the Aburame knocked the Inuzuka upside the head. She saw a small frown upon his masked features, signalling he had no clue as well. "We just have to trust Naruto and Bee-san to defeat the Jūbi," He placed his hands in his trench coat's pockets, "As of now, we need to go help Tsunade-sama with Madara." The two nodded with the Inuzuka pouting at the Aburame, "Ah, Shino, why did you have to smack me? I'm already hurt as it is!" The Aburame heir, Shino, rolled his eyes from underneath his glasses as he pushed them up. "Because, Kiba, I felt the need to smack some sense into you." Was his blunt reply which made the Inuzuka's pout, Kiba, deepen considerably with his ninken whining at him. She sighed at her teammates. "We need to go to T-Tsunade-sama, Shino-kun, Kiba-kun." Her soft and gentle voice interfering before a fierce argument can erupt from the two. Shino nodded at her statement, ignoring Kiba's puppy dog face, and said, "Let's go." With that, Team Kurenai ran to their Hokage.

"We're here, Tsunade-sama." A soft, gentle voice softly called to the blonde Hokage as Team Kurenai landed behind her, ready to attack on order. She sagged her shoulders in relief and glanced over her shoulder to see her strongest three-man team plus ninken wearing looks of determination. She smirked, her glossed lips quirking upward, as her hazelle eyes scanned the three and ninken. "We'll provide you a distraction and when you see an opening, attack that bastard with the most powerful move you've got. Is that clear, Team Kurenai?" She ended with a delicate blonde eyebrow raised in question, daring them to deny her request which she doubt they will considering the situation they're in. "Hai, Tsunade-sama!" They chorused with the ninken barking. Her smirk widened and she turned her head so her sights were on the man that fought Hashirama Senju with the Kyūbi. "Alright! Let's go!" She called and the five Kages charged, providing Team Kurenai a distraction as they prepared for their most powerful attack. She shushined into the Kazekage's sand and waited until the Uchiha sidestepped from the charging sand to attack. She rushed out of the sand and with a chakra-filled fist pulled back, she roared as she delivered the punch. She front flipped and dug her chakra-enhanced heel into his shoulder blade, the bone breaking on impact with the shattered pieces zooming downward and spreading widely, scraping the right lung and deeply wounding the large intestines. She then sent another chakra-filled strike-an uppercut-and watched with grim satisfaction as he flew upward rapidly. A whip of water wrapped around his waist and chest and in one motion, brought him furiously to the ground, creating a crater with him inside. Debris and dust scattered across the area of impact and everyone held their breath with tense shoulders and narrowed eyes. Faster than anyone could comprehend, a large dark purple hand swept the five Kage off their feet and were sent skidding onto the ground. Another hand slammed down onto the Earth and up from the debris and dust was a fully cloaked Susanoo with Madara glaring menacingly at the bottom with his Eternal Mangekyo Sharigan blazing angrily. "We're ready!" He glanced over to see Team Kurenai surrounded in a bronze aura of chakra with the ninken crimson furred. The Inuzuka and ninken merged into one, two-headed wolf the size of his Susanoo and as one, the wolf and the rest of the team charged. The two-headed wolf skidded to a stop and took on deep breath before one head breathed out crimson fire while the other spat out a constant stream of oil. The two mixed and formed a large stream of pure white flames aimed at Susanoo and the Uchiha founder. A black mass began to form around Susanoo and it grew taller and wider and denser as the white flames hit the shield of Susanoo, making the shield slowly melt. The black mass fully covered Susanoo as it avoided the stream of fire, giving it a perfect radius and full coverage. The mass was revealed to be kikachu of the Aburame and it was proven when he saw Susanoo begin to weaken considerably and the constant stream of fire didn't help the cause. Suddenly, the mass of kikachu scattered from the top, shining soft lavender light upon the weakened Susanoo and the furious Uchiha. He looked up to see the Hyūga girl charging downward, riding on a large lavender chakra-made lion with two blue lion heads on her fists, her lilac eyes glowing with the Byakugan. "Hakke Tengoku Raion Danmaku (Eight Trigrams: Heaven Lion Barrage)!" The Hyūga girl claimed as she shot down, the lavender lion roaring as it zoomed into Susanoo, a dark purple and lavender light exploding as she descended upon him. He threw three kunai in a flash, seeing that she was descending and fast. She gracefully spun from the kunai and it felt as if time had slowed down for the two, her enhanced eyes watching the three kunai passing her with exploding tags trailing behind them while he watched with his enhanced eyes-as she brought her fists back-and his right hand in a half ram sign. As her lion fists landed on him, he uttered one word that made her beautiful eyes narrow dangerously,

"Kai!"

A large explosion erupted, the force of the 'grand finale' making the business of kikachu and the merged two-headed wolf push back considerably. Kiba immediately separated from his ninken, Akamaru, and shouted at the top of his lungs, "HINATA!" as his eyes were wide with horror. Akamaru growled and became a white blur as he ran towards the explosion, making Kiba shout out his name, yelling at him to come back. The ninken ignored his master's calls and charged head-first into the flames. He barked twice, using his ears to pick up any sound of his master's best friend. He heard a gasp and he made out his name in the gasp. Suddenly, he felt a pair of arms circle around his body and a face being pressed at the crook of his neck. He looked over her shoulder, only to see a large fireball coming their way. He was shocked when he heard-and felt-his master's best friend giggle,

"Akamaru, you silly dog."
