A/n- Warning! Extremely long!!

After an eternity of simply doing nothing, I was able to open my eyes and speak. When I opened them I saw Christina with her family, surprised to see me up.

"Oh you're okay!" Christina pulled me up and into a hug, making pain pop through my body. She noticed me wincing from the pain and let me go. Her parents left us, leaving Christina and I to talk.

"What time is it?" I asked. She looked on her phone and showed me. It was 9 am and it was the next day.

"Originally my parents were the only ones going, but because of you I'm able to go see you and go to the dance!" I remembered the meeting of having the boys there, but don't remember when it is exactly..

"Wait. When is it? What time? What's the theme? Who's going to perform?" She looked at me as if I was crazy before answering.

"Well, It's in 3 days at 6 pm to midnight. The theme.. I don't really know. I think it's just a bunch of families in large companies coming over I guess...For a masquerade ball. I don't know the band or singer either," she explained. We then started to talk about the recent events, what's going to happen other things like school. Eventually she had to leave, but we plan to see each other tomorrow after I get checked out.

Nevertheless, I need to find Jonah.

...

...

...

The next day I was checked out early in the morning. My parents were quiet, probably because I was "overthrown" by my sister. Not like I cared. It was now 11am and I was waiting for Christina.

"Michelle. Because of you we only have two days to find you a dress. We decided it'd be best for you to go with Christina..And for Elise to be the actual hier." Instead of acting all disappointed and angry, I gave them a carefree smile.

That's when they knew.

I never wanted to be hier in the first place...

"Christina and I will find a dress. Bye bye" I announced, showing sass in my voice. I left the house and to Christina's car

"What's on the agenda today?" She asked.

"I found out the theme is a masquerade ball for the party thing," I stated. Her eyes widened and her lips curved into one of the biggest grins I ever saw on her face.

"Let's go get dresses! And we have to find one of those masks that match our dresses too...C'mon!"

"You're driving us..To the mall I presume?" I laughed as she just realized that.

"Yeah. Let's go."

And we took off.

Jonah's Pov

"So, when are you gonna tell her?" I perked my head up in confusion to Jack's question.

"Who?" I asked, oblivious.

"Michelle you nimwad." I felt my face heat up to the thought of Michelle. I never planned to tell her, and I don't plan to tell her. She sees me as her best friend since 4th grade. I don't want to hurt my friendship with her.

"I don't think I'm gonna" I mumbled.

"Corbyn!" Jack hollered. Corbyn's head popped through the door in annoyance.

"What! I'm trying to change here!" Jack and I bursted out laughing from how cranky Corbyn is.

"Well, Jonah needs to know how to ask out a girl. Turns out he doesn't know how to ask out a girl, and doesn't have the guts to. And! And, he loves Michelle," Corbyn's eyes widened as he squealed like a little girl.

"You're gonna ask out Michelle!? Daniel you owe me twenty!" Daniel groaned in the background while I sat there in shock. They've been betting on me?

"I'm leaving. I'll be back in about an hour or so." I left the house and into the woods and back to memory lane. I walked through the sparse trees I've been familiar with ever since I was a child and to the willow tree to see...

It was gone.

All that was left was a tree stump and a few belongings laying around. One was the carpet that's also in La, with the abandoned tree house. A picture of Michelle and I when I first reached high school, surrounded by a metal frame. I picked it up and brought it to the stump to sit on it.

Why?

It was New Year's Eve, and Michelle's family left to go to New York without her. I let her stay at my house to celebrate with my cousins, since the adults go to the kitchen to celebrate. She insisted, saying it was my family, but I brought her anyways.

"You're family is so much more fun than mine. All they do is talk about finances while my cousins scold each other for being "Too Filthy" or "Disgusting", then there's my sister pouting because she's not gonna be hier though, she deserves to be hier, not me. I don't even want to run my parent's company" I noticed her face fall at the worst time. It was 11:50. 10 minutes till 12 am, or the best part; New Year.

"Hey, forget about them for one night. Tonight is our night." She looked up with hopeful eyes and smiled. Her smile is something I can look for days on end...

11:59.

"New Year's kiss is coming up!" one of my cousins screamed. I looked around to see them glancing in our direction. One of my cousins, Kennedy, gave me the look. She wanted me to kiss her, badly. I wanted to, yet I didn't want to ruin our friendship.

"Ten!"

I tapped Michelle's shoulder.

"Nine!"

She looked at me, excitement as excitement was glimmering in her eyes.

"Eight!"

"Seven!"

"Six!"

I turned to Kennedy to see her giving me a thumbs up, making me smile.

"Five!"

"Tonight...

"Four!"

"...Is our night."

"Three!"

"Two!"

My gaze switched from her eyes to her lips.

"One!"

And in one move, I kissed her.

"Happy New Year, Michelle," I whispered as I pulled away.

"That was my first kiss! You dork!" She laughed. I felt my cheeks heat up realizing that was her first kiss.

"I got pictures!" Kennedy squealed. I rolled my eyes and hugged her.

Best New Year's I can ever have.
