Maybe Demi should've gone shopping with Kendall and Hailey a few days ago. It was New Year's Eve, less than 20 degrees outside, and Demi was out on 5th Avenue trying to find something to wear. A lot of shops weren't open because of the holiday so Demi had to call and make special requests which made her feel terrible but she needed an outfit and for some reason, Law was unavailable and she didn't trust anyone else to dress her for tonight. So, her and Kim had taken to the streets for some killer outfits since Kim said she needed a break from her clingy children and some time to herself. So, shopping it was.

"Don't you think it's weird that it's New Year's Eve and people would rather watch us shop than do...idk anything else?" Kim questioned as she peered out of the glass front of the store to see the gathering of paparazzi and fans. Demi shrugged because a part of her was used to it and that part knew that she couldn't let them ruin her day. It was clearly not going to be the best day either because for the first time in five years, she wouldn't be bringing it in with Trey.

"We all make choices..." Demi mumbled as she picked up a lace corset top then immediately put it back when she remembered how cold it was outside.

"This would be easier if you at least had an idea of what you wanted to wear," Kim sing songed as they continued to look through the racks of the Valentino store.

"What's the theme?"

"Roaring 20's. Think Great Gatsby. Diamonds and pearls and furs," Kim replied as Demi moved away from the racks with a shake of her head.

"Nothing in this store screams 20's. What happened to that boutique you took me to last time we were here? The one where Kylie gets some of her custom-made stuff?" Demi asked as she stuffed her hands into the pockets of her black trench coat. One thing that would always keep her from moving to New York was the weather. The cold and the snow was definitely not for her.

"It's down the street from here. You want to get lunch and then swing by there? I can call the owner while we get something to eat." Kim's bodyguard led them out of the store, blocking them from the screaming fans and persistent paparazzi as Demi curled into herself because of the blowing wind. Soon, they were back in the safety of their standard black Escalade and Demi could finally breathe again.

"What do you want to eat? I'm starving."

"You choose?" Demi cringed at the thought of food but Kim was way too motherly to let them go through this shopping trip without stopping for something to eat. Since she let her choose, they ended up at Kim's favorite pizza face in the entire city called Duccini's. It was a hole in the wall place that Demi would've never walked into by herself but for some reason Kim loved it.

"Can I get one slice of cheese and one slice of pepperoni?" Kim ordered for both of them as Demi typed away on her phone. Maddie had ditched her for her friends because she wanted to be in Dallas for New Year's instead of New York, but she still wanted to spend some time with her when she returned.
