(Y/n)'s POV

I couldn't help but notice Ji Dwi staring at something. I followed his gaze but there was nothing there. Hmm, must be my imagination.

"Come on, I'm hungry. Let's go get some food."
"Huh? Sure," he replied half-heartedly.

I tugged at his hand, indicating that I wanted to go. But while walking to the street stalls, he looked like he was deep in thought. Did something happen? I wonder what, but it might be best to just let it be.

"What do you want?"
"Ah, I don't feel like eating. You get something, I'll pay for you," he said while patting my head.
"Don't worry, I have my own money."
"I doubt that it's enough to pay for these rice cakes."

I looked at the price and realised that he was right. *sigh* After a little hesitation, I reluctantly let him pay. We found a nearby bench and sat down but he was still thinking seriously about something.

"Hey Ji Dwi, you've been thinking about something for a while now. Is something wrong?"
"Hmm, it's nothing you need to know about," he replied while giving me a forced smile.

I frowned. Seeing him think about something so seriously and even just that forced smile made me feel bad. Why was it that I felt as if I cares about what was troubling him?

~Some time later~

Ah Ro was teaching both Sun Woo and Ji Dwi how to write, leaving me by myself. Her calligraphy was better than mine so there would be no point in me being there. I'd probably only be a nuisance.

"Yah, why do you look so gloomy?" asked Soo Ho.
"Why do you care?"
"Why can't I wonder? So? Are you gonna answer my question or not?"
"I'm not obliged to nor do I have any intention to answer. Now go away and leave me alone."
"Tch, always so rude and disrespectful."
"You were the one that started it."

He glared at me before taking his leave. I turned around, only to fall on my butt. When did Ban Ryu come here?! Tch, he came here without me noticing almost like a ghost.

"Watch it," he growled before leaving.

Rude much? I got up and headed towards my room. Ugh, where was the paper when you needed it? I took my time to go to the supply room, there was no need to rush.

No one's POV

(Y/n) was walking through the hallway when the ambush began. Five bandits had surrounded her, all with swords and small knives.

She quickly got out her daggers and avoided all their attacks. She could've beaten all of them but since they outnumbered her, she couldn't do much when they simultaneously attacked.

Damn it, I can't call anyone out here or else this place will be in chaos. What should I do? (Y/n) thought.

"(Y/n), behind you!" Sun Woo called out.

She immediately turned around and dodged the incoming sword. Ji Dwi and Sun Woo quickly ran down the steps and helped her chase the bandits away. Honestly, she was grateful but couldn't help but feel a little light-headed.

Ah Ro's POV

I watched with worry as (Y/n) slowly headed back to her room. She seemed a little different but I couldn't tell what.

"What happened out here? We heard the sound of swords clashing," exclaimed Yeo Wool.
"Oh, there were some bandits. They ran away," replied Sun Woo.
"But why did they come here? There's nothing for them to steal," Hansung said.
"I don't know, but it seemed like they were targeting (Y/n)."
"That's a believable explanation," commented Ban Ryu.

Tch, how could he say that?! Was he implying that some people want her dead?! I only said that because that was what it seemed like but seriously...

After all the ruckus had finally settled down, I decided to go see (Y/n). I was still worried about her.

Once I opened the door, my heartbeat immediately increased. (Y/n) was on the floor with strange dark spots near her neck. Blood was also on the floor, most likely from a wound on her back.

Oh no, what should I do? She'd die at this rate. Okay Ah Ro, just calm down and quickly treat the wound. The blood needed to stop. I quickly rushed out to get my supplies before returning.

~Some time later~

In the end, I had to call father over to treat her. She was getting better, but still didn't regain her consciousness.

"It seemed like she was poisoned. The wound on her back isn't too serious but tell her to be careful just in case. Also, she may experience headaches and dizziness for around two days," exclaimed father.
"B-but she's better, right?"
"Ah Ro, stop worrying. She'd feel upset if she knew that all of you were so gloomy," he replied before leaving.

Sun Woo sat down, still leaning against the wall while Ji Dwi wouldn't take his eyes off her, as if he was afraid that she'd die at any moment.

I sat down beside her and held her hand. She had to wake up sooner or later.

(Y/n)'s POV

~The next day~

I woke up and slowly sat up. Ow, my head hurt. Did I hit it against the wall or something? Huh? Why was Ah Ro holding my hand? Even Sun Woo and Ji Dwi were here, asleep. Did something happen?

"(Y/n), you're awake!" Ah Ro exclaimed then added, "Don't you ever worry me like that again."
"Alright, I won't."

The others woke up because of Ah Ro's loud crying.

"Ah geez, stop worrying. I'm fine, see? This is nothing to cry about."
"Yah, don't get hurt like that again," she said with tears running down her cheeks.
"Come on, Ah Ro. She probably wants some time alone," Sun Woo exclaimed while slowly pulling her up.

Ah Ro turned back to look at me before leaving. I turned around to face Ji Dwi but all I could see were his clothes. He had his arms around me.

"Ji Dwi...?"
