(Y/n)'s POV

~The next day~

I was sitting by the lake, where everyone was washing their clothes. Ah Ro had to go back to help her father so I was left alone. Ji Dwi came back but didn't seem like he was in the mood for talking. He seemed distracted by something.

"Yah, you're washing your clothes in my area. Move over," exclaimed Soo Ho.
"What do you mean? I got here first. Are you blind or stupid?" Ban Ryu asked with an annoyed expression.
"Guys, stop fighting. There's plenty of room around the both of you," said Sun Woo.

I looked back at the sky, finding no interest in their useless fights about random things. They could find almost anything to argue about...

"(Y/n)."
"Huh, yeah? Who called me?"
"You're getting your clothes wet," Ji Dwi pointed out.

I looked down and noticed that the water had reached up to my knees. When did I walk in the water? Suddenly, a splash of water wet the upper half of my clothes.

"Yah, who did that?!"
"It was him!" Sun Woo and Hansung replied at the same time.
"*sigh* You guys..."

Hansung splashed water at my face. I did the same to him, causing a water fight to occur.

Ji Dwi's POV

I left the lake and went back to the rocks as soon as the water fight started. There was no point in joining to such a pointless activity.

Without realising it, I was pulled back into the water. I opened my eyes and saw (Y/n), smiling cheekily at me.

"Ah geez, now I'm all wet."
"But you don't seem troubled anymore, so it worked. You're not worried about anything anymore, right?" she asked.

I smiled and splashed water on her. She let out a small scream before pushing me into the water. I pulled her along with me. By the time we had decided to stop and go back, everyone was soaking wet. But it was fun. I didn't know why but it was fun. Was it because of (Y/n)?

~Some time later~

(Y/n) had just finished training everyone and was resting with Ah Ro in her room.

I still couldn't help but wonder about what mother told me. Was it true? I couldn't believe what she said. (Y/n) wasn't like that...

~Flashback~

"What are you talking about?! (Y/n) would never-"
"How can you be so sure?! She is just deluded into thinking that she's a nobody! Don't you find it suspicious how she was found in the middle of the forest with no memories at all?"
"That could happen to anyone-"
"Are you sure? But wouldn't they at least remember small fractions of their past? But she doesn't even remember her own name. What about her daggers? No normal 6 year old would be allowed to own such weapons. The ancient inscriptions also explain it."
"How so? (Y/n) is not the monster you speak of. She-"
"Why? Have you taken an interest her? No...do you like her? You probably do not know of those inscriptions but it is an evil curse. Why do you think she can fight so well and tame any animal she pleases? She is obviously..."

~Flashback end~

*sigh* (Y/n) was definitely not what mother said she was. I closed my eyes and laid down on my bed, trying to clear my head.

(Y/n)...I couldn't let mother hurt her. If she did, I would not hesitate to betray her.

(Y/n)'s POV

"Hey Ah Ro."
"Yeah?"
"I think-"
"You're in love with Ji Dwi?"
"*blush* W-what? No way. I was just thinking...Sun Woo really does love you, doesn't he?"
"O-of course, we're siblings after all."
"I wish I had a sibling or some kind of family. To be able to protect someone and have someone to protect you, wouldn't that be good?"
"*sigh* (Y/n), I think you hit your head. Let's go get something to eat. You're hungry, right?"
"How did you know?"
"Anyone could mistaken your stomach grumbling for an earthquake."
"Y-yah!"

She just laughed and stood up. I followed her outside, where an old man greeted us.

"(Y/n), right?" he asked.
"Yeah, but who may you be?"
"I am Pa Oh, Ji Dwi's ..uh..friend. Please tell him to eat something. He has not eaten since yesterday. I am worried about him," the man replied.
"Okay, sure."
"Hey (Y/n), there's some food left in the cupboard. I can eat with Soo Yeon, go to Ji Dwi," exclaimed Ah Ro.
"Huh? O-oh, okay."

She waved before leaving. Pa Oh also took his leave without saying another word. But how was he allowed in here?

~Some time later~

I knocked on the door to Ji Dwi's room.

"Come in," Yeo Wool called out.

I went in and looked around. It looked like everyone was here, just lazing around since there was no more training until the evening.

"Ji Dwi, get up."
"(Y/n), you can leave. I don't feel like eating," he replied.
"Oi, don't bother. He's been like this all morning," Sun Woo said.

I walked over to Ji Dwi's bed and pulled the blanket off.

"Get up and eat something. I'm not leaving until you finish these dishes."
"I don't feel like it."
"Yah, Pa Oh even came to see me saying that you haven't eaten since yesterday. Eat, at least for his sake so that he doesn't worry."

He sighed before sitting up. I handed him the food, which he reluctantly took.

"(Y/n), you don't happen to have any food for us, do you?" asked Yeo Wool.
"No, sorry."
"Just forget it. She only cares about Ji Dwi," Soo Ho groaned.
"Yah, how was I supposed to know that you guys were hungry? Huh?"
"Geez, you two are always fighting," Ban Ryu pointed out.
"Says you."

I looked around and couldn't help but laugh, causing the others to laugh/smile. I didn't ever want to leave this place.
