If it's the second, it's you (Poem)

It came, an alien feeling, I have never felt before.

Something in me is uncertain, as it crushed every hope of forever more.

You stand over there, smiling with your eyes.

But I can't accept you, so I spare you with my lies.

It is not because you're not worth it, its just that I'm not.

As I try to push you away, my insides are a knot.

I thought it was right, as I build walls from within.

But a burden has laid, redirecting my win.

The battle continues, making more scars.

Creating opportunities, yet losing the wars.

You stand there, concerned, but I gave you a smile.

"Don't worry," I say, this will take a while.

Then time stilled, everything turned black.

That was when I realized, you were the light that I lack.

For once, I broke through.

To reach out and hold on to you.

But life wants to mock me, for I see you happy and glad.

To someone else who has something I never had.

I was a fool for thinking, that I broke down my walls.

It made me vulnerable, alone in the quiet halls.

My shoulders shook, the rain fell.

This was worse than what I felt before as hell.

It was a mistake, you cut a hole through me.

Throughout all those years, I thought you would see.

I was blind, to think it was all true.

That's what I thought, that was what I knew.

But it doesn't matter, now that I'm dead.

Though my heart still beats with instructions from my head.

I am dead, yet I am alive.

I am surrounded, like bees in a beehive.

If I get a second chance, I would think it through.

But no matter what I'll say, it will always be you.
