Chapter 23

Avi POV

I took hold of Kirstie's hand and we started walking back to the cabin. We remained silent besides a little small talk. But mostly just silence, not awkward, just thinking. When the cabin was in sight I stopped and pulled Kirstie close.

"So what do you think they'll say?" I asked.

"Well... First, they'll make assumptions, seeing how we were alone and all. Next, Kevin will play detective and find our little love bites. Then, Mitch is going to make some smart-ass remark, we'll tell them we're dating, Scott will scream 'I knew it!!' then hit Mitch on the arm. Mitch will get mad, scream 'You bitch!!' and then hit him back."

I just stared at her in amazement.

"And you think all that will happen?" I chuckled.

"I don't think, I know." She smirked.

"I don't believe it." I said doubtfully.

"Care to put your money where your mouth is?" She raised her eyebrows.

"You're on." I smirked as I pulled out my wallet.

We both weren't really big betters so I pulled out a five, and held it up as I raised my eyebrows.

"Good enough for me. Let's go."

We got to the door and walked in. I set the basket I had from the picnic by the door and we walked up to everyone who was waiting.

"Soo... What were you two up to?" Scott smirked.

I looked to Kirstie and she mouthed 'assumtions' as she held up one finger.

"Yeah, care to explain?" Esther asked, smirking like Scott.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, what do we have here?!" Kevin said walking up to us, moving our heads to get a look at our necks.

I looked to Kirstie and she smirked holding up two fingers.

"Oh no, you're not pregnant are you Kirst?!"

I looked to her again. She held up three fingers.

"Care to share anything?" Kevin asked.

There was a short silence before I spoke up.

"Well, it's a really nice day outside, we're almost out of food, we're dating, but you know I also heard it was going to rain later tod-" I was going to continue making a list until Scott cut me off.

"I KNEW IT!!!!!!" He screamed, hitting Mitch's arm.

I looked to Kirstie. Four fingers.

"OW YOU BITCH!!" Mitch screamed and hit him back.

Five.

I smacked my forehead and held up the five bucks.

"Thank you." She said and snatched it from my grasp.

"What was that for?" Kevin chuckled.

"She called everything y'all just did, and I bet her five bucks that it wouldn't happen like that." I chuckled.

"Women know all dude." He said hitting my shoulder.

"Yeah, I guess so." I said smiling at Kirstie.

"AWWWWE!! You two are adorable!!" Mitch said.

"Oh shut-up, Mitch." We both said at the same time.

"Ah!! Y'all said the same thing!! So cute!"

We both rolled our eyes at the same time.

"Lit-er-ally cannot with y'all."

"Mitch!" We said at the same time again, then looked at each other and laughed.

"I'm done here. Let's watch a movie or play a board game or something." He said throwing his hands in the air.

"Maybe we can go for a wa-" Scott said opening the blinds to see rain pouring from the sky. "Or not." He frowned.

"Board game it is!!" Esther said. "I'll go get one." She said and walked off.

We started walking towards the clearing on the floor in the living room, when a big boom of thunder caught us all by surprise. Kirstie jumped and wrapped her arms tightly around my torso, burrying her face in my chest.

"Scared of a little thunder?" I chuckled.

"What?! No." She said detatching herself from me acting tough.

She was doing well, until another roll of thunder came. And she did the same thing.

"Ya know, if I didn't know any better, I'd say you were a little afraid of thunder." I chuckled.

"Okayyy... Maybe a little..." She said sounding more scared than just 'a little'

"Awwe, babe." I said enveloping her in a hug.

"Tmwanks buh I camn't bmreathe." She said muffled by my chest.

"Sorry." I chuckled and lightened my grip on her.

"Y'all coming or what?!" Kevin asked.

"Yeah, yeah." I said and grabbed Kirstie's hand as we walked over and sat on the ground with everyone else.

AN: Heyyyyy..... Long time no see... Hahaha... Ha....ha.......ha...... Okay, I understand if y'all are upset, I get it. It's been like 27282 years. Truth is, I'm lazy and have an unhealthy amount of writers block. :/ BUT!!!!! I finally updated and I hope y'all enjoyed it.
