for the first time, it was a normal day.

Abigail had not really known what those were anymore. everyday was a blur of wires and needles.

She wanted out. Out of this disgusting shriveled, frail body. Out of her mind.

Joshua was the only thing that had been keeping her sane. Every hug from him was like a pull back down to earth, a gravitational force.

Abigail had finished her round of chemo and was now at home for three weeks. Joshua had been gone for two, visiting his family in Ohio.

She was floating in a grey haze again.
And Josh wasn't there to bring her back down to Earth.

How awfully she wanted to come down.

She was terrified she would end up
floating too close
to the sun.
